On Thursday evening we learned of the tragic passing of Robert and Kathleen Marks.

Loyal customers, forever smiling faces and 2 genuine people who knew and greeted each staff member by name.

Many times were spent talking about the state of Louth GAA with Robert at the bar paying a bill while Kathleen waited patiently. More time was spent entertaining Kathleen as Robert said his hellos and goodbyes to everyone in the bar that he met. A true gentleman and his life partner Kathleen, the kindest and most gentle of ladies who loved a cheeky joke with staff and fellow customers.

Proud grandparents to our current staff members Amy and Lily, the pride and love Robert and Kathleen had for these girls was clear from the smiles on their faces when they seen there two granddaughters anytime they walked in.

Sundays bookings were never done unless Amy said “Granny and Granda are coming in.” We will miss the chats, the craic and the loyalty you had to us here at McKevitts.

We offer our sincerest condolences and support to all family involved and will always remember Robert and Kathleen for the genuine, kind & good natured community people that they were.
