Michael Collins spent a night here on 18 August 1917.

President of Ireland Éamon de Valera dined and stayed at The Bush in 1938, en route to Stephen Flynn’s funeral.

Taoiseach Seán Lemass addressed a by-election rally on our street in 1938.

From inside to outside, take a look at some of The Bush’s stories from many moons ago. If our walls could talk, we’re sure they’d tell us plenty of tales! 🗣️

Have you stayed in our Michael Collins room yet? 👀

In August 1917 a then little known visitor arrived at the Bush Hotel. He had come to organise the Sinn Fein Party in Carrick on Shannon, Drumlion and Gowel.

His name was Michael Collins, who soon became the heroic leader in the War of Independence (1919-21) and a victim of the Civil War (1922-23).
