‼️Trespass Misrepresented as “Very Bad Experience” — Facts Set Out‼️
We wish to address and correct a false and defamatory statement published on the Facebook group “Self Build Campervans Ireland” by the individual named in the post.
The post in question states:
“Galway today very bad experience with the owner in eco beach we weren’t staying just passing by and dropped in to check availability did anyone have this before with this guy? Or did I catch him on a bad day”
This statement creates a false and damaging impression of both the owner and the operations of Clifden Eco Beach Park.
For the avoidance of doubt, the individual referred to entered Clifden Eco Beach Park without authorisation and in clear breach of our publicly displayed conditions of entry.
The park operates a strict “Entry by Pre-Booking Only” policy, and Entry by the expressed consent of the proprietors of Clifden EcoBeach Beach Park which is supported by prominent on-site signage and clearly stated on Google Business, among others!
At the time of the incident, the park was fully booked and not accepting walk-in visitors.
The individual parked his vehicle approximately 200 metres from the entrance and proceeded to enter the property on foot, despite multiple notices restricting access. This constituted trespass. Given the park’s strict child protection and guest safety policies, such unauthorised entry is treated with the utmost seriousness.
The individual was approached by security personnel, informed of the access restrictions, and respectfully escorted from the premises.
During this interaction, he was treated courteously and was provided with information regarding alternative local accommodation options. Body camera footage confirms that the interaction was calm, professional, and that he acknowledged and appreciated the assistance provided.
It is therefore of significant concern that he subsequently chose to publish a misleading account of events, omitting the material fact of his unauthorised entry and portraying the situation in a manner that is inaccurate and damaging to the reputation of Clifden Eco Beach Park.
We strongly reject the characterisation of this incident as a “bad experience” attributable to the park or its management. The actions taken were appropriate, proportionate, and necessary to uphold our legal obligations, safety standards, and the welfare of our guests.
We reserve all rights in respect of this matter and will seek legal advice on the matter.
