Dating back to 1838 The Old School House Cottage is one of the oldest buildings in Clifden. Having been a school that was run by the locally monastery to then The Old Pottery. The Old School Cottage is a picture perfect cottage in the heart of the most unspoilt scenery in Clifden, Connemara.

Situated in Ardbear, this self-catering holiday cottage sleeps up to 4 people in two spacious andrelaxing bedrooms. Close to the town center and set in the countryside we are in the heart of the most unspoiled scenery. It is 500m to Clifden and an 8 minute walk to the nearest pub. It's only a 5 minute walk to the Greenway as well as 10 minute drive to Ballyconneely and their glorious beaches and golf club. We are nestled in on the Wild Atlantic Way and are close to many family-friendly activities. Great for fishing, running and the direct access from our door onto the cycle lanes.

Every guest who stays with us gets their own handwritten welcome board.

Different names, different places, and occasionally some questionable Irish spelling 😂 — but every one is written especially for the people arriving through our door.
