Butterflies, blackberries and baking. The lanes are still full of butterflies and now the blackberries are ripening beautifully! We ate our way down to Sandscove yesterday and I picked some more for baking. I love the ones that are warm from the sun! It’s a really special time of year when the days are still long, the sea is lovely and warm and the evening light is beautiful.

Our roses have never looked so good! With unbroken sunshine for weeks now, they have been thriving. Normally they get a bit of a pummelling. This morning we’ve had a little rain but the countryside is looking a bit yellow so we badly need some. Something we’re not used to in Ireland!

I love this little oasis between the Barn and Mews 1. We converted the stables and raised the roof to make a second floor for the bedrooms. We wanted to keep the steps but an old door had to be replaced by a window. So the steps remained, the window was made to look like a door from the outside and the feature looked the same 🥰
