Nature’s own purple carpet. 💜

For just a few short weeks each year, the peatlands surrounding Croghan Hill Glamping are transformed as the native ling heather bursts into bloom.

After today’s gentle showers, the bog is alive with colour. The deer lichen has plumped up once again, the heather is at its vibrant best, and every breath carries that fresh, earthy scent only the Irish countryside can offer.

This isn’t a garden designed by people, it’s a landscape shaped by time, weather and nature itself.

Soon, our guests will be able to step out onto the deck, coffee in hand, and watch this ever-changing landscape unfold right outside their pod.

Today marks the end of a two-year journey with the EU Just Transition Tourism Learning Network Programme.

When I started, I was completely new to the tourism industry. Two years later, I leave with invaluable knowledge, new perspectives, incredible connections and friendships that I know will last well beyond this programme.

A huge thank you to Fáilte and the EU Just Transition Fund for investing in tourism businesses like ours, and a very special thank you to Maire Hennessy. Your dedication, encouragement and patience with every participant never went unnoticed and is deeply appreciated.

Despite the weather doing its best to test us, the beautiful House was the perfect setting to celebrate this milestone. Special thanks to David and the team for such a warm welcome.

From bogland to beautiful retreat… it’s finally starting to feel real. 🌿 From warm evenings on the bog to the final exterior details, we’re creating something truly special here in the heart of Offaly, a place to slow down, switch off and reconnect with nature.

We genuinely cannot wait to share these views, these sunsets and this hidden little corner of Ireland with you all.
