What a night! 🥂

Congratulations to Gavin Murphy who was announced the winner of our 2026 Merrion Plinth award yesterday evening! ‘Porte fenêtre’ is from a series of works exploring the social, cultural, and technological history of glass.

Rather than presenting glass as the clear, minimal material often associated with modernist architecture, Porte fenêtre suggests that glass can also be decorative, colourful, and visually complex while maintaining a restrained formal language.
