Meet the faces behind Bold Frontiers 🤗

Mark and Joey brought their vision to life last year, and this year Bold Frontiers grew even bigger and better. It brought incredible artists from around the world, homegrown Irish talent, and venues right across Dundalk together to celebrate music and community. 🙌

After the success of the festival we were delighted to invite the lads for a complimentary breakfast and to enjoy the Glen G*t Hospitality which their artists and attendees received over the weekend.

Congratulations on an incredible festival. It takes a lot of hard work to bring something like this to life, and Dundalk is all the better for it. ❤️

We’re delighted to see Bold Frontiers take over Dundalk from 9th–11th October, bringing three days of music, art, creativity and unexpected discoveries to venues right across our town.

At Glen G*t House, we’re especially delighted to be looking after a number of the artists involved in this year’s festival. We have a fantastic connection with our friends at The Spirit Store, and it’s wonderful to play our part in welcoming the people who bring Dundalk’s vibrant music and arts scene to life.

From The Spirit Store to Dundalk Gaol, St Nicholas Church and venues throughout the town, there’s something wonderfully different about a festival that celebrates local culture, creativity and community.

Best of luck to all the artists, organisers and venues involved. We’re proud to be part of the hospitality that makes Dundalk such a special place to visit.

Fáilte go Dún Dealgan!

It’s always lovely to see Glen G*t House filled with young people, music and a bit of Irish culture! 🎶☘️

We’re delighted to welcome this wonderful group from Scoil An Chrannóg , Gaoth Dobhair, who are in Dundalk to perform “Samhradh na gCruitirí” at An Táin Arts Centre today.

And, all going well, they’ll be performing again this evening at around 6pm Windsor Bar so if you’re around town, pop in and give them a listen! 👏🎶

It’s brilliant to see the connections between Gaoth Dobhair, Dundalk, An Táin and our local hospitality businesses, and to have so much happening in the town.

Dog- friendly Dundalk 🤩

It was lovely to host Gail & Tom McDonald and their boys Jack the Lurcher and Baghira! 🐾

They enjoyed a delicious pizza last night at home of mo’s l***r, another dog-friendly spot in town, and we’ve also recommended a lovely walk along the seafront in Blackrock before they catch their ferry this evening.

We absolutely LOVE welcoming pets and their parents to Glen G*t because so fellow dog lovers… where else should we be recommending? 👇

It was our pleasure to meet with Jacques Vanhoucke, Trade and Investment Commissioner at the Embassy of Ireland in Belgium, and to have the opportunity to chat about our family-run guesthouse, now celebrating 36 years in Dundalk.

We shared some of the stories behind Glen G*t, the history of our building, and of course, the wonderful characters and returning guests who have become such a huge part of our story over the years. ❤️

And making her hospitality debut… Morgan, just 15 days old! 😅👶🏼
She’s already making her mark on the family business!

We really are blessed with our location in the heart of Dundalk, a thriving town with so much to see, do, eat and explore right on our doorstep from our rich history and heritage to arts, music, sport, shopping, great food and beautiful walks and coastline.

This teddy bear is about to have a better passport than most of us! ✈️

Meet Flower, the Ingles family’s travelling teddy from Australia.

She’s joining them on their round-the-world adventure, collecting passport stamps along the way - from Fiji, Canada, Ireland, Scotland, Norway, Germany and Singapore - before eventually being given to their granddaughter as a very special souvenir of their travels. 🥰

And there’s another beautiful story behind their journey…

Years ago, the Ingles family welcomed an exchange student from Germany into their home, who became a much-loved part of their family. When Althea turned 40, their exchange daughter was there to celebrate with them.

Now, their travels will come full circle as they head to Germany to celebrate her 40th birthday. ❤️

It’s one of the things we love most about welcoming guests from around the world - the incredible stories, friendships and connections that travel with them. ❤️

We were delighted to welcome the Ingles family and their traveling ted to Glen G*t House! 🥰

What a group! 🤩

Delighted to host Aidan, Caoi, Wallis and Wallis Bird’s manager Brian last night ahead of their gig at Spirit Store 🎶

By all accounts, it was a brilliant gig- although with the energy these guys bring to their videos online, we had no doubt it would be! 😍

Be sure to catch the rest of their Irish tour this month before they head to Germany next month for the next leg of the tour. 🇮🇪🇩🇪
