Meet the Team | Ann – HR Administrator
This week we're delighted to introduce you to someone who has been part of the International Hotel family for an incredible 40 years – our wonderful Ann! ❤️
Ann first joined the team in April 1986, starting her journey at Reception.
For more than three decades, she welcomed guests with the warmth, kindness and friendly smile that so many of our regular visitors will remember.
In 2019, Ann thought it was time to say goodbye to Reception and move on... but, as anyone who's worked here knows, it's not always that easy to leave!
Instead, she began a new chapter in our HR Department, where she has continued to support and welcome people – this time from the staff side.
When asked what has kept her here for 40 years, Ann's answer was simple:
"The team. Why else would anyone stay for 40 years?"
She says that moving into HR gave her a completely different perspective on hotel life.
Instead of seeing the guest experience from Reception, she now gets to see how every department works together behind the scenes to create one cohesive, well-functioning hotel.
It's a role that has given her an even greater appreciation for the people who make the International Hotel what it is.
When she's not at work, Ann loves making the most of the outdoors.
Whether she's walking the hills around Kerry, enjoying a sea swim (Summer only though… this is Ireland after all! 😉), or cycling the greenways with her husband, she's happiest when she's on the move.

Over the years she's had her fair share of adventures.
She's floated over the Killarney lakes in a hot air balloon, travelled by helicopter to collect VIP guests from Cork Airport, flown a plane more loads (although she's not quite as keen these days!), and even explored underwater in a submarine in the Cayman Islands.
Ann isn't one for sitting in front of the TV either.
She'd much rather be listening to music or singing with the "Stronger Together Choir".
And the holiday destination of a lifetime?
For Ann, it's the Cayman Islands without hesitation. The crystal-clear water, white sandy beaches and beautiful weather made it a trip she'll never forget.
Ann, thank you for your dedication, kindness and the countless lives you've touched over the last four decades.
