So I’m trying to inject a little good humour into this courtesy of Max Tormey illustration but in reality guests continuing to flush wipes and other products that clearly will not dissolve or quickly degrade is causing us a lot of strife and money . Like most rural properties we rely on our own sceptic tank that has numerous internal parts on which latex items and wipes in particular can snag , become entangled and cause the whole system to stop functioning .
PLEASE PLEASE only flush toilet paper .

Given the array of items that have had to be removed from the tank , I am tending to believe that , like the pig , it is clear to the flusher that they should not be flushed and we just ask that you please make the same decisions in our cottage that you would in your own home . There is a bin beside each toilet happy to accept your unwanted bits n pieces

The little window overlooks the front and lights the little snug fireplace room
