To celebrate National Heritage Week, we’re looking back at the history of The Old Bank Townhouse and the story behind this historic Kinsale building.

Dating back to around 1800, the building was once home to the Munster Bank, later becoming the Munster & Leinster Bank. Located on Pearse Street, it has been part of Kinsale’s story for generations, witnessing the town evolve around it.

Today, the building has been lovingly transformed into The Old Bank Townhouse — bringing together its Georgian character, heritage and a new chapter of Kinsale hospitality.

A little piece of Kinsale history, still standing today.
