The Harvest Time Blues Festival is back this weekend. Did you know Monaghan has the longest running Blues festival in Ireland?
It has been 35 years since the first festival here in 1991. Coincidentally it has also been 35 years since the release of the 'The Commitments', the film based on the Roddy Doyle book. Strong of The Commitments is one of the headliners this weekend, along with young virtuoso Muireann Bradley who has featured on the Jools Holland New Years Hootenany.
We can also expect fan favourites such as Johnny Gallagher & The Boxty band, The Revolutionaires official, Ronnie Greer, the Monaghan Blues Jam, and so much more.

The Monaghan Record Fair also takes place on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM at St. Patrick's Church Hall on The Diamond in Monaghan town centre.
And don't forget the Monaghan Town Tours leaving from the front of the Westenra Arms Hotel at 11am every Saturday.
