Darts match in the Porterhouse Tipperary town raises €1040 for Breast Cancer Ireland

Recently a small group of people got together and decided to raise much needed funds for Breast Cancer Research.
Our very own John O Brien Obs Kilross is joined on the committee by Annette Hartnett,
Stephen Ryan, Joan Ryan, Niamh O'Brien, Clodagh O Brien and Katherina O' Brien. This is a very strong committee.

There was a great atmosphere in the bar tonight for the match between Moroney’s from Lisvernane and the Porterhouse team, it was well supported and great credit goes to both teams for raising this amount of money and a big thanks to Moroney’s bar for their wonderful donation and a big thanks to Joan and Stephen for all their help and support.

The money raised tonight will be added to the money that will be raised from the music event in the marquee at the Porterhouse on Friday October 30th and then the committee will make a special presentation to Breast Cancer Ireland.

It’s also worth noting that breast cancer affects both men and women and the organisation
don’t receive any government funding and therefore they depend on groups of people who organise events to support them financially as Karen Walsh explained in an interview recently.
