"Of all the places we've stayed in the world, Killiane Castle is my current favorite by far. Coming down the long, shaded lane, getting our first glimpse of the place and the friendly resident dog is something we won't forget. We seek out beautiful old places to stay, and there is an abundance of rich history and story attached to the castle towers and dwelling. If you don't care about that, it's just an incredibly serene and beautiful place to walk around and notice the man-made details and the natural world—wildflowers, birds, resident donkeys and cattle, and so on. Inside are the gorgeous but still cozy public rooms and private suites. The hosts have a fine sense of what guests might need, including the glass bottles of well water and fresh baked goods available most of the time. The breakfasts might be most memorable. You feel a bit like royalty with the elegant place settings and soft music, but the experience is a rare combination of elegant and relaxed. Most important, the food is abundant, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. Paul and Patrycja, thank you so much for a restorative and unforgettable stay."
