The most magical time in a child’s life surely must be at Christmas, that whole gig is kind of special, and let’s face it, it is all about the kids at Christmas.

It can be difficult to create the perfect story, the one from the movies, the one that is just “perfect”.

Is there such a thing as “perfect” I don’t think so, but in Waterford they have gone all out to tick as many magical boxes as possible.

Tralee Half Marathon – Oct 25th

This is a very popular annual event in Tralee. The route starts and finishes in Tralee and there is a specific family appeal about the whole weekend.

Because it is also a Bank holiday weekend, this is the perfect time to explore the area and make the best of it until the race finishes while supporting your runner.

Killorglin will be hosting a magical Samhain festival at the same time.

This is a weeklong event with seasonal workshops for all ages….and we just happen to have a property available there!

The noise from the summer is gone, the beach is vast and the town is quiet, this has its own attraction.

A quiet walk across the strand heading out to the po***ck holes for a swim. Even in October this is yes cold, but divine.

The cliff walk will be even more dramatic at this time of the year and the sound of the ocean with the salt in the air is pure escape from reality.
