Current Events from Israel

The news report is coming out a little earlier this week in honor of our dear son Ari’s Bar-Mitzvah celebration tonight! Mazel tov!

There are unsubstantiated claims all over the internet that North Korean leader Kim Jung Un has died. It’s probably not true, but because of our similar looks, I’m waiting for the phone call from Pyongyang to come fill in for him. Then this news report would be even more lit than it already is!

Speaking of arrogant idiots ruining countries through ego and sheer incompetence, Barack Hussein Obama made some accusations against Israel this week. Nobody here cares. I didn’t even bother to look up what he even said, past the headline. Let me explain a little dynamic right now using events from this week.

Olives
As we mentioned last week, it’s the olive harvest season in Israel right now. Actually it’s a bit early, but no one really cares about the olives anyway. This is all about the Land and who controls it. There are folks around the world who really don’t want the Jews to control more (or any) of their ancestral heritage. So reporters and diplomats and other first world tools who are bored because they don’t have children are now traveling to Israel to fight with the “Settlers” (read: Jews). As they say in the South, they got learned right good this week.

Some diplomats from various Jew-hating countries that shouldn’t be allowed here in the first place got a little roughed-up in one such altercation. Mostly theater, but they got their pics and videos to show their friends back home. But the main event was with a reporter from the US. She charged ahead and almost retreated without one of her fingers. Good thing for her that it was still attached, there wasn’t going to be a Kramer to bring it back to her in a cracker jack box. Anyway, she’s probably thrilled to now be getting all the attention she craves. Now her employers at the Washington Post (disclaimer: they wrote a bs hit piece against yours truly in the past) are claiming that the owner of their garbage publication, Jeff Bezos, is going to come deal with Israel. He’d be better off using his resources to find a cure for spousal microplastic poisoning.

Here’s the kicker: the wounded demon woman has got a pretty Jewish sounding name - Levine - and is definitely not an Arab, so basically this whole episode actually displays the lack of racism on the part of the young Jewish pioneers. When it comes to defending the Land of Israel, they do not discriminate or give preferential treatment to the enemies of the Jewish People, regardless of ethnicity or whatever. Refreshing.

Now here’s the real lesson: the Israeli hellenistic authorities are now going to clamp down on the youthful heroes. Arrests have been made and harassment increased. But don’t worry, nothing serious will happen to them. When the olive harvesting season is over, these foreign provocateurs will be gone and the young Jews will still be there and there will probably be even more of them on even more liberated land. Soon they will be commemorating Hanukah and there will be extra celebrating of the contemporary victories of the Jewish People against our adversaries, both foreign and domestic.

Elections
Israeli national elections are now just one week away and it’s still anyone’s guess who will win. The polls are all over the place and obviously extremely biased based on whoever conducts them. Until this week there were at least 4 prominent parties in danger (according to the polls) of not passing the electoral threshold of enough votes to secure the minimum of 4 Knesset seats. One of those parties, on the left, just quit. Benny Gantz announced that his party, whatever it was called, would no longer be participating in the election due to lack of support in the polls. He previously had many of his candidates defect to other parties. This is definitely a smart move and good for the left.

Attention now turns to the more right-wing parties that are in danger of not passing the threshold - Noam and Amcha Yisrael. They could possibly be offered a ministerial position or something else in exchange for suspending their campaigns. If they continue to refuse and don’t pass the threshold, then tens of thousands of right-wing votes will be lost and it could easily be enough to lead to the forming of a left-wing coalition government. That threat seems quite dire, but it remains unclear if it’s enough to convince either one of these parties to quit.

One of the Arab parties, that didn’t join with the others, is also at risk of not passing the threshold, but probably won’t have any significant impact on the results either way. It’s hard to believe that any coalition could be put together at the current time that would include Arab parties. I kind of want to see someone try to do it, but would still rather just win.

Gaza
The pace of settling scores from Oct. 7th continues throughout the Gaza Strip about the same this week with more terrorists taken out on a daily basis. I’m not much of an art fan, but these scenes are just beautiful. Pure justice on canvas.

Iran
There are currently endless reports of preparations by the US and Israel for a return of fighting with Iran. Still unlikely to happen before the US Congressional elections in early November. As if tensions couldn’t go higher, US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth paid a secret visit to an Israeli Air Force base this week. The exact reason for the unpublicized trip is still a mystery, but he probably didn’t come just to entertain the troops. He would have brought Shane Gillis with him if it was just for that.

While on the subject of Iran and its wickedness, Iranian journalist plant Christiane Amanpour announced this week that she’s leaving CNN. Apparently she feels that there is simply nothing more to say against the Jews that she hasn’t already said. Despite her decades-long best efforts and the active collaboration of Southern folks at CNN who should know better than to be involved with this moral rot, Israel has only become stronger and stronger through the course of her tenure! That and the cancer say that it’s time to go.

There is some apprehension among Jews in the Diaspora that if the right-wing again triumphs in the Israeli elections it will lead to more international anti-Jewish sentiment. Maybe so, but this week’s Haftarah offers some solace: “Behold! All who are angry with you shall be shamed and humiliated. Those who contend with you shall be like nothing and shall perish. You shall seek them but not find them, those who battle with you. For I, Hashem, your G-d, hold your right hand, and say to you: Fear not, I will help you”. (Isaiah 41:11-13)

Current Events from Israel

The election is coming up real fast here in Israel. Ironically, most of the campaigning is being done by parties with no chance of actually winning any seats. The last election was decided by the failure of small left-wing parties to merge together in order not to waste votes. This one might be decided by that same failure on the right side. But I don’t think so.

The main thrust of the left’s campaign is that Prime Minister Netanyahu is responsible for Oct. 7th. To whatever extent that’s true, putting in folks who are guaranteed to do even worse seems like a pretty bad idea. Of course one could look at all the accomplishments since Oct. 7th (and there are a ton!) and wonder why they couldn’t have happened before or without an Oct. 7th. However, the left wants to destroy many, if not all, of those accomplishments. Unsolicited election advice: Stop watching leftist Israeli/international media and start using your brain.

Gaza
Just when you thought the pace of terrorist eliminations in Gaza was just right, Israel goes and cranks it up a notch. America is all giddy about shooting one terrorist Arab in Texas, but Israel is taking out about more than 20 a week at this point in Gaza alone. For those of y’all that still refuse to take the AI plunge, I did it for you and it informs me that the average is about 3 a day! A lot of these scumbags took an active role in holding the Israeli hostages and the bitter regret of letting them go is probably the last thing that passes through their mind before that big ole’ missile does.

More and more evidence has emerged that Hamas is totally still in charge of Gaza with no plans to relinquish control. Hence there is no reason in the world for Israel to leave and all the reasons in the world to take even more of it. This is just about the best case scenario until we get to an even better best case scenario - Make Gaza Jewish Again!

Oct. 7th Olive Harvest
It’s olive harvesting season in Israel. You know what that means, it’s time for the Arabs and their Jews-hating allies to infiltrate into Jewish areas, under the guise of picking olives, in order to spy on and plan attacks on Jewish communities. It ain’t going great this year. Yeah, they’ve attacked a few Jewish shepherds, they should have complete and speedy recoveries. However, a combination of the heroic Jewish youth, regular folks and the IDF are restricting a good amount of this preparatory terror activity. At the same time, many olive trees are now located in areas that have recently been liberated and the Jewish olive presses have never been busier. This is probably hard for those seeking to destroy the Jewish state, but as they like to say at the higher levels of society - “It sucks to suck”.

Ironically, now that many airlines have returned to Israel and are bringing loads of tourists, they are all also bringing a smattering of anti-Jewish provocators as well. Obviously these hateful clowns need to be deported asap, but the airlines should have to pay for bringing them in the first place. That would make the security questions that they ask in the airport before the flight even more fun than they already are.

Jerusalem
Everything is set up for massive growth in Jerusalem. The amount of construction cranes is simply staggering. At the same time, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir is carrying out a methodical genocide of illegally built houses throughout the Capital. Public lands are being reclaimed and prepared for development for the actual public. With the crowds coming from all over the world to Jeruaslem, we’ll need as much holy space as possible.

Shrab vs. Shrab
Saudi Arabia and the Houthis continue to duke it out. The Houthis wrecked the main Saudi international airport in Riyadh this week with multiple missile strikes, resulting in hundreds of deaths and injuries and the closing of the airport. Royal family residences were also struck as were oil production sites. The Saudis hit back at the Houthis, but they don’t really have anything that’s worth anything to lose. Not very fair, but as a great Rabbi used to quote former Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Arens: “This is the Middle East, not the Middle West.”

Heroes
-Jewish youths continue to liberate more parts of the Land of Israel and to battle Israel’s enemies in the fields. They do this stoically while taking criticism from all directions. We all owe them a great debt.

-Jerry Seinfeld continues to get heckled for being proudly Jewish and continues to fire back with blistering mockeries. This while so many other Jewish celebrities duck for cover or worse. In a world full of Larry Davids, be a Jerry Seinfeld.

-Senior Advisor to the US Ambassador to Israel, David Milstein, got married this week. Even as the wedding was taking place, posts based on a hit piece against Milstein in the nefarious New York Times were circulating virally online. Milstein’s crime - being a proud Jew and doing the job he was appointed by the President to do. In fairness, this is actually a great reason for Jew-haters to hate him. While they burn up with rage and whining, we dance and scream “Again let there be heard in the cities of Judah and streets of Jerusalem the sound of joy and the sound of gladness, the voice of the groom and the voice of the bride!” MAZEL TOV!!!

Since the frummers have probably stopped reading already (bitul Torah), if Shane Gillis is still reading this, I promise that dressed totally appropriately while writing this. But in all seriousness, a little while back he prostituted himself to take a shot at the Jews at some event that was meant to mock a little descendant of Ham (this week’s Torah Portion) and how’s that going for him about now?! This Week Today
Current Events from Israel

This week marks three years since the beginning of the Simchas Torah War/Oct. 7th. Obviously the real anniversary was on Simchas Torah itself, but you can’t take pictures on that day, so they had to do a different one. It seems they have chosen the non-Jewish date for the official commemoration. Luckily for them, the Maccabees aren’t around these days…

Anyway, ceremonies were held and many warnings of attacks were issued. No attacks took place, not from Hamas and not from Iran. The various ceremonies also passed peacefully, despite the upcoming elections and continued lunacy of some of the leftist former hostages and their families.

A quick scorecard for reference:

-Hamas and Hezbollah are decimated (but still exist)
-There are no Israeli hostages, dead or alive, in Gaza or anywhere else
-4000 out of 6000 terrorists who entered Israel on Oct. 7th have been eliminated
-No rockets from Gaza into Israel in the last year - first time this century
-The IDF remains in most of Gaza and in large chunks of Lebanon and Syria
-Over 100 Jewish communities have been legalized in Judea and Samaria
-The Tombs of the Patriarchs in Hevron and Samuel’s Tomb near Jerusalem have been expropriated and are being renovated/developed by Israel
-Hundreds of Jewish agricultural farms have been established in Judea and Samaria
-Tons more

Tragically, many were murdered on Oct. 7th and many Israeli soldiers and some hostages were killed during the subsequent combat. With that said, Israel is definitely winning and by a lot. This victory has led to a resurgence of public Jew-hatred throughout the world, however this is simply a public display of what these folks have always privately felt. Nothing to get all worked up over. As a great Rabbi once said: “It is better to win than to lose. For 2,000 years we were losers. Today we are winners.” Some people are having a hard time adjusting to the new reality, that is their problem. Many American Jews in the northeast have a Jew-hater as a mayor, they should consider relocating.

Finally, it was revealed this week by former Biden Administration official Brett McGurk that Hamas had no intention of freeing the Israeli hostages. What led to the breakthroughs in the negotiations were the massive successes of the IDF on the ground in Gaza. With the help of the Trump Administration, the IDF freed the hostages and conquered as much of Gaza as they were allowed to by the Israeli Government. They are undoubtedly ready to conquer more if called upon to do so. Hundreds of IDF soldiers were killed throughout the campaign to free the hostages and defeat Hamas. They are heroes who will never be forgotten. Everyone will forget the evil Gazans, sooner or later.

Elections
Now that the Jewish holidays have concluded and with about 3 weeks to go until the voting, it’s full on election campaign season in Israel. Despite this, there’s not so much actual campaigning going on. It reminds very much of the Biden-Trump (stolen) election. Lead left-wing contender Gabi Eisenkoett has gone mostly silent to avoid saying stupid things/what he actually thinks - just like Biden, minus the credible medical excuse. What remains is the left-wing Israeli media seeking to blame Prime Minister Netanyahu and his allies for anything they can think of - from the attempted hijacking of the airplane from Dubai to the price of gasoline and everything in between. No mail-in ballots in Israel, so it will be tough for them to cheat at the ballot.

The most interesting and likely important component of the election remains the “Amcha Yisrael” party led by General Ofer Winter. His party continues to hover around the electoral threshold in the polls. He has stated that if elected he plans to obligate more Haredim to draft to the IDF but also that he is willing to sit in a coalition with the Haredi parties. Can these two things be reconciled and will his party get enough votes to actually enter the Knesset could be the decisive factor as to who forms the next Israeli governing coalition.

It must be pointed out that if, as a result of the upcoming elections, no one is able to form a coalition government then the current government would continue - possibly the best option of all!

The Region
-The Houthis and Saudis/allies continue to fight it out in Yemen. The Saudis struck back this week and reconquered areas that had recently been captured by the Houthis.

-The US pulled all military forces out of Iraq after 23 years! Just prior to the withdrawal, the various Kurdish para-military forces united together as part of an effort to protect northern Iraq and possibly to strike Iran.

-Iran continues to disrupt global shipping through the Strait of Hormuz and to foment conflict throughout the region. President Trump continues to promise that it will all be over soon with Iran’s complete defeat. GI Joe vs. Cobra, in real life.

Hope Remains
Israeli Ambassador to the US Yechiel Leiter publicized this week that his seriously wounded son, Neria Dov ben Chana, had begun to breathe on his own. He is still in a coma and has suffered severe head injuries, but real hope for his recovery remains.

Amazing Success
As mentioned before, there have been a huge amount of national successes for the Jewish People since Oct. 7th. A very significant one just happened recently: A farm has been established off of Highway 60 (“The Biblical Route”) adjacent to the hostile Arab village of Awarta, near Shechem. The farm is in close physical proximity to the traditional grave of Elazar Ben Aharon HaCohen, as well as to those of his brother Itamar and his son Pinchas. Jews now have continuous access to the site, as opposed to previously only a few times of year. The tomb of Elazar has been restored and the area cleansed. This is an incredible accomplishment for the Jewish People and specifically for the specific Jewish heroes who made it happen. This could certainly lead to more such victories in the near future. “As Rabbi Tarfon famously taught: Time is short, there is a massive amount of work to accomplish, the laborers are sluggish, the payoff is huge, and the Boss is demanding results.” (Pirket Avos 2:15). Thankfully, post Oct. 7th, the “laborers” are far from sluggish!

Chag Sameach! Obviously this news update is being written from inside of a Sukkah in the Land of Israel - two mitzvahs that can be performed with the entire body. In short, it’s quite the holy news update.

Entebbe 2 - Miracle in the Sky
As Jews all over the world celebrate the “Time of our Joy”, the Jewish People were overjoyed by the seemingly miraculous rescue of an entire airplane from a suicidal terror attack over Saudi Arabia. The plane left Dubai on the way to Israel when apparently one of the pilots remembered his religion and attacked the other pilot and then attempted to crash the plane. The other pilot was able to fight back, despite being severely injured and to the cockpit door. That’s when the Israeli hero passengers charged in. They were able to subdue the terrorist and render medical care to the good pilot. Additional professional pilots were on the plane, dressed in civilian garb, and they were able to take control and land the plane in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia received the Israeli passengers at one of their airports but refused a flight from Israel to retrieve them. Another Dubai flight was sent to ferry the stranded passengers back home. After rigorous background checks of the new pilots, performed by the Mossad, all the Israeli passengers boarded the rescue flight back to Israel. The passengers were welcomed at Ben Gurion Airport by Prime Minister Netanyahu who led a kumsitz/simchas beis hashoeva sing along with them.

With these celebratory videos circulating all over the place, the Israeli left is losing their minds about now. DJ Yair Lapid complained publicly that Prime Minister Netanyahu hadn’t warned him about the possibility of such an attack. Really? Kindof. Basically, it was exposed this past week that Prime Minister Netanyahu recently traveled to the UAE for secret meetings there. After the news of the trip broke, speculation erupted throughout the Israeli leftist press that the real purpose of the trip was to get the UAE folks to forcefully deny the reports that Netanyahu had been warned about Oct. 7th in advance and done nothing. There have been quite a few erroneous reports like this recently. Judgemental, but accurate take: You’d have to be a complete idiot to believe such a thing in the first place. Turns out that there were at least a few important meetings to be had in the UAE, none of which involved internal Israeli politics. One was reportedly with a prominent figure from Libya - a potential future Abraham Accords member. Another was apparently to warn the UAE leaders about recent advancements in the Iranian nuclear program. So much for these “bombshell allegations”. To quote over-achiever Billy Madison: “Any more brain busters?”

To everyone’s good fortune, the political campaigns have pretty much suspended themselves for the duration of the holiday. In fairness, most of the left, especially Gadi Eizenkot, pretty much stopped actively campaigning all the way back in Elul.

Gaza
As many may remember, a few weeks ago Israel captured the head of Hamas “security” in a daring raid into Gaza. Since then, over 100 terrorists have been targeted and eliminated, seemingly with the help of Mr. “Security”. We should definitely release that guy back into Gaza just to see what happens. With the successful elimination of the “Colonel” of Hamas in northern Gaza this week, all the remaining Hamas “Colonels” have been taken out during this time. Gaza is starting to resemble that Duck Hunt game when you figured out you could just put the plastic gun right up to the screen and blast away!

Meanwhile, it was announced this week that Hamas has formed some kind of political coalition to run with other terror groups for leadership of the Palestinian Authority. Um, I’m pretty sure this is against Trump’s whole plan where Hamas disarms and disappears. G-d willing, Israel ain’t ever leaving Gaza again! Time to go ahead and make it Jewish again!

Lebanon
Israel keeps blasting terror targets all over south Lebanon and clearing former Hezbollah strongholds. The especially rabid Jew haters are howling about the scale of the destruction, but no one remotely normal cares. Israel is methodically cleansing Lebanon of Hezbollah and I certainly hope it isn’t being done for free. There sure better be a serious pay out at the end, but it would be much better to just absorb a nice chunk of biblical Israel and make that Jewish again as well.

False Flag
There are of course folks, including Iran, who are accusing Israel of orchestrating a false flag operation through the airplane incident and seeking to blame Iran/Arabs. But the real false flag is the incident this week that happened in Binyamin in the Shiloh area. Basically, before Oct. 7th, Arabs from the village of Jalud established a presence on a hill overlooking the neighboring Jewish neighborhoods. They have since used this hill to repeatedly attack local Jews. After Oct. 7th it was decided that the enemy presence needed to be removed. Of course the Israeli authorities should have done this, but they didn’t. At some point, the residents of the two houses on the hill were convinced to relocate. Now some Israeli court ordered the IDF/Israeli Police to return them back to the hill. About 100 young Jews showed up to prevent that from happening. Now a bunch of losers are screaming against them. They’ve lost the plot.

Vilna Gaon
Today was the “yahrzeit” of R’ Eliyahu of Vilna, also known at the GR’A/Vilna Gaon. If you’re not familiar with his works, get familiar with them, everything will make a lot more sense.

Current Events from Israel

Hope everyone had a meaningful and not too painful Yom Kippur. It’s important to remember that these are the first Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur that the last freed Israeli hostages were able to observe since their abductions. Now they will have Sukkos as well - truly “z’man simchaseinu” - “The time of our happiness!”

Yom Kippur couldn’t pass without all kinds of fake rabbis whining and virtue signaling to ignorant and hopeless congregations of myopic sheep . It’s so sad that these charlatans are respected on any level and the tragic results (intermarriage/assimilation) speak for themselves. Quite frankly, if I thought these pathetic clowns were actual Jewish leaders, I’d quit too.

Not to be outdone, the goyim decided to join in on the pile-on. Manny Macron, a white man pretending to represent modern African France, declared at the UN that Hamas has never existed in Judea and Samaria. As a continuing victim of sexual and physical abuse, the Mac-attack may be entitled to some leeway, but there are limits to how stupid one can be allowed to be and he’s way over the line. Then there was the little king of Jordan who spouted some nonsense against Israel at the UN as well. He obviously has a complex on the whole height situation, but again tolerance has its limits. With so much trash talking going on at the UN, there is every good reason to just skip it entirely. Prime Minister Netanyahu should travel to New York just to get some good kosher deli and stick it to Mayor Achmed Mamdani, but the UN is no place for a nice Jewish boy.

Terror Rears its Ugly Head
In addition to the “regular” assaults on Jewish shepherds and other pioneers, there was an uptick in the level and number of terror attacks this week throughout Judea and Samaria. Tragically, Netanel Shakrun (father of 6) was murdered near a natural spring used for immersion before the Yom Kippur holiday. The terrorist was shot and wounded by IDF personnel located nearby, but was able to escape. He was later captured by IDF special forces while receiving medical treatment in a nearby Arab village. Political figures, including both Prime Minister Netanyahu and Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir, have called for the terrorist to be executed for his horrific crime. Let’s not get too excited about that. The leftist “justice” system will do whatever they can to prevent that from happening. More on them later.

There were a few “ramming” terror attacks as well. One resulted in severe life-threatening injury to reserve soldier Neria Leiter (Neria Dov ben Chana). The terrorist was eliminated. Leiter is the son of Israeli Ambassador to the US Yechiel Leiter who already lost another son in the war in Gaza. G-d willing, he will make a full recovery. Refuah sheleimah.

Usually when there are upticks in terror it’s the result of the PA giving a nod to the terrorists. Remains unclear if that is what is going on now, but stands to reason. PA dictator Mahmoud Abbas was recently denied a visa from the US Government to travel to New York to speak (lie) at the UN. His son tried to sneak his way into the US as well, but was also denied entry. They can’t be loving that situation. They are indeed a prideful, temperamental bunch and they don’t need much of an excuse to encourage terror attacks.

Despite the terror, more and more Jewish communities are being established and expanded throughout Judea and Samaria at an unprecedented rate. Officially 104 communities have been legalized under the current Government and there are so many more on the way! That’s not even counting all the agricultural farms, new neighborhoods to existing communities and roads, so many roads!

Yemen
The Houthis continue to gain territory as they set their sights on conquering more of Yemen. Saudi Arabia seems powerless to do anything about it. They did some bombings this week, but it’s going to take more than that to push the Houthis back, even a little bit. In the meantime, nobody is coming to help. This should be a teaching moment for everyone in the Middle East - don’t expect others to do the fighting for you.

Iran, Syria and Lebanon
All pretty much the same. There were reports this week of an imminent diplomatic breakthrough that many interpreted to mean that the membership of the Abraham Accords would be expanded. Hasn’t happened so far.

Gaza
More prominent Hamas terrorists were taken out this week. Israel is eliminating anyone who even thought to participate in Oct. 7th, under the pretext that they are currently actively engaged in terror activity. Why the need for the pretext? Oct. 7th isn’t enough? There’s the problem right there.

Similarly, Defense Minister Yisrael Katz, who has done an amazing job in that position, threatened Hamas that if they kidnapped any Israeli soldiers or civilians, he would order Gaza City to be flattened. Why not just flatten it anyway? Seems simple enough and more than just.

Election Disqualifications
As happens every Israeli election season, the Elections Committee (composed of Knesset members) banned all the Arab parties from running in the election because they all clearly support terrorism. This will undoubtedly, as always, be overturned by the leftist Israeli Supreme Court who will just ignore the whole terror support thing. They will probably disqualify at least one of the Arabs who openly supported Oct. 7th, but stop there. The reality that all of the “Arab” parties are all proudly anti-Israel should be enough to disqualify them, but alas, the Israeli leftist “judicial” system sees otherwise.

The streets of Jerusalem are once again crowded with Jews who have come from all over the world, but mostly America, to celebrate the upcoming holiday. Almost all airlines are once again flying and foreign tourist groups are returning as well. Our national sukkah is strong and secure and welcome to all those who come in peace.
