In a few days, on September 20th, we celebrate the birthday of Sophia Loren, one of the true icons of the 20th century. For us at Dan Carmel, it is an invitation to revisit her stay with us in 1964 during the filming of ‘Judith’.

Expecting diva demands, the hotel staff was delightfully surprised by her actual routine. "The thing that relaxes me most after a day on set," she shared, "is simply cooking."

A kitchen was built by her suite, and each evening, Neapolitan aromas filled the halls. Loren regularly invited the team to share her handmade minestrone and spaghetti, trading culinary secrets with our chef for Dan’s own signature recipes.
