The Dug Dug Camps Intersection of nature and community, embracing the simplicity of an analog mindset in a digital world 🐾

There’s a kind of quiet you forget exists in the city.

It’s the sound of wind moving through Oak trees. Of a lake holding still below you. Of a morning that asks nothing of you except to wake up slowly and breathe.

Six hours from the Delhi, tucked into the jungle above Bhimtal, that quiet is still here.

We didn’t build much — just a few tents, warm home-cooked meals, and enough space to remember what unhurried feels like.

Simple and slow is all we know here.

This is what living on a hilltop at the edge of a forest looks like. Our wood and stone is sourced entirely from the local environ and the design of our tent-cabins (glamps) is inspired by the joy and contentment of being in nature.

For reasons we’re also trying to understand, being anywhere in the wild and natural world feels complete in itself without the desire for more. We first felt this through camping and now we open the same experience to others.

And while camping isn’t accessible to all people, our glamp is a middle path between comfort, contentment and closeness to nature. This allows the stay to be truly experiential and the focal point of this remains outside the tent-cabins and in the natural world. Plus, it’s always fun to fall asleep to the sounds of the forest.

There isn’t anything quite like being surrounded by the natural world being its unabashed self. And to witness this, you just have to be an observer and an admirer.

We’re two bros (Anuj & Saatvik) that’ve started DugDug Camps to give people a feeling of the awe and joy of being an observer of nature and life. We leave it to those who visit to determine how that experience plays out and what they wish to make of it. But there is seldom a human who’s been with nature and rejected the natural pull they feel towards the natural world.

If this is something that you enjoy, are trying to make more time for, or want to experience with your people, pop by for a bit. We love company 🌿

Every time we think we’ve figured out the natural ecosystem around the Camps, we discover and learn something we didn’t know before.

This continuous process of discovering and learning is what has kept Nature at the heart of things here. We’ve built along the natural steps of our hillside, sourcing all our material from the local Jangalia forest, allowing us to create a more intimate interaction both inside and outside the tent.

For us, each of the natural entities of our region, be it the surrounding oak forest, the river bed, Sattal lake, or the flowers growing in the lawn, are all our collaborators in this experience. They are the whole reason for our camps existing, and the experience that you seek through Nature🌿

Clouds drifting, mountains breathing and a small corner of stillness waiting for you.

A little glimpse of how it feels like walking down to the glamps. A little cosy space built for friends and family to just slow down, sit together and let the mountains do their thing.

There’s nothing like the quiet and still of the Kumaon hills where you can almost hear yourself again.

Take a break from the maddening crowd and kiss the winter away. We invite you over to experience the tranquility and healing that comes with being in nature.

What a year it’s been! We endeavoured to slow down, and we mean really slow down, and hosted some of the cutest four legged friends, with plenty of bonfires.

We hosted creators, entrepreneurs, those in service of the bliss life has to offer, lovers, parents, friends.

Some choose to mark the beginning of their commitment to each other here with the Kumaon hills in the background, while others celebrated milestones of a different kind.

Most importantly, we made the time to have stillness and to honour what’s within us by turning to the wild around us.

Reflecting on this year, our commitment to holding space for anyone who seeks the still, quiet, and comfort of the wild remains even stronger. While our world is flooded with noise, confusion, rush, pollution, greed, you can find us here on the hilltop. We’ll all get back to who we were before all of this began: free, wild, and in harmony with nature (inside out)

Here’s to 2025! May you have a great rest of the year, we can’t wait to see you in the next one😇
