There’s something quite special about the colours of Jaipur.

The soft pinks and earthy tones of the Pink City are beautiful, but step outside our doors and the palette changes completely — bright textiles, painted rickshaws, flowers, crafts and the everyday colour of Kishanpole Bazar.

We’ve taken inspiration from those colours inside Abode Jaipur, translating them into calmer, quieter tones. Outside, Jaipur does the opposite: it turns the volume all the way up.

Looking back at the wonderful PLACE & FOCUS panel we hosted during Jaipur Art Week 5.0.

Our terrace, Nahargarh Fort in the background, cups of tea and coffee, local snacks and a room full of curious minds — it was the perfect setting for a conversation about Jaipur and the many stories that shape the city.

Curated by Ranjit Hoskote, the panel brought together artists Joanna Chevalier and Gigi Scaria, in conversation with moderator Ruchira Das, exploring Jaipur through its histories, people, ecology and ever-changing landscape.

Every city needs an iconic neighbour.

Bombay has the Gateway of India. And here in Jaipur, we have Ajmeri Gate, just around the corner from Abode Jaipur.

Also known as Kishan Pol, the gate is one of the historic entrances to the Walled City, leading towards the road to Ajmer. It has been part of Jaipur since the city’s early days in the 18th century.

Not a bad landmark to have on your doorstep…
