Panikhar is the picturesque village our grandma's narrated to us in stories. Mornings that awaken with the first ray of sun and roosters crowing, sheep and cows (Balang-as known in the local balti language) grazing greens in the glorious day-light, blue skies and enormous mountains, the gushing Suru River, birds singing sweet melodies and people going-by their normal routines will make all your childhood stories come alive!

Panikhar is also the gateway to the Zanskar region, a base for adventure activities like mountaineering, rock climbing, river rafting and trekking.
