August Rush!
1. Good food: Today it was a Lebanese lunch, with za'atar-lemon-garlic grilled chicken, watermelon-feta-walnut salad (with a tempeh version for a lactose-intolerant guest), hummus, pita bread, grilled veggies, cacik (Lebanese tzatziki), chickpea kebabs, and a chocolate pudding with orange-infused cream sauce (not in the picture), ending with fragrant black coffee.
2. Haldi ke phool: The fabulous, almost unreal, flowers of turmeric, from our wilded organic garden.
3, 4. Rewarding walks: Wild begonia wall flowers, spotted during a morning walk through our lush green forest, with some of the house dogs for company.
5. Home again: Back after the walk ... A lavish breakfast awaits. More on that and other food and other matters in my next post.

It seems unimaginable but here at The Retreat it is cool, peaceful, secluded and comfortable. Great food too!

Saandeep Minnaganti and Pallavi Verma returned to The Retreat after 2024, a couple of days ago. This time Saandeep brought his bicycle, which they put together at night and in the mother cycled off to Binsar, 100 km out and 2500 feet up! Pallavi followed in a taxi and played catch-up. They got there safely and even went to the observatory that evening. They return today, Saandeep cycling again and his partner in life wisely in a taxi again...
We love intrepid adventurers as much as we do the kind who choose to read a book and look at birds. 💕😊
