Lachaumiere House, Shillong

This stately old house has seen the passage of a century since the time it served as a meeting place for the British community who annually retired to the heavenly comfort of Shillong from the sweltering plains in summer. Known as Holders Hotel in the days of the Raj, La-Chaumiere House still retains the form and charm of the original building, but has been tastefully refurbished to offer all modern amenities and services to make it the perfect home away from home. Situated centrally and easily accessible to the markets and landmarks of the city, the property has rooms in the heritage house and annex. With its wood interiors, manicured lawn, whispering pine trees, all reflecting the grace and elegance of a bygone era, La-Chaumiere House invites you to take a step back in time and enjoy a peaceful and relaxing stay.
