When the mountains light up, a centuries-old tradition comes alive!
Tonight, South Tyrol celebrates the "Herz Jesu Sonntag" once again. As darkness falls, the impressive Sacred Heart fires illuminate the mountains, a powerful symbol of faith, unity, and deep connection to the homeland. ⛰️
This tradition dates back to 1796, when Tyrol dedicated itself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus during difficult times. To this day, fires in the shapes of crosses, hearts, and meaningful symbols are lit across the mountains, transforming the South Tyrolean landscape into an unforgettable sea of lights.
An evening filled with history, emotion, and authentic South Tyrolean tradition!❤️
