Corte Malpensata è una tipica corte rurale risicola della pianura mantovana. Il nucleo originario risale alla fine del 700, costituito da un imponente edificio rurale, presente tutt oggi, che ospitava il granaio e le abitazioni dei contadini
nel piano superiore e la stalla con i magazzini al piano inferiore. Sul fronte sud dell’edificio è presente un ampio porticato con arcate a tutto sesto che si affaccia su quella che un tempo era l’aia in mattoni dove veniva fatto essiccare il riso, e che oggi è stato trasformata in un ampio prato. Un secolo più tardi, il bisnonno dell’attuale proprietaria, Ferruccio Castagnari, fece edificare, sul lato opposto dell'’aia, la propria abitazione, costituita da un corpo centrale e da due ali laterali e una barchessa per il ricovero delle barche. Infatti, come molte corti risicole del luogo, la Malpensata è completamente delimitata dai canali di adduzione idrica delle risaie che, un tempo, costituivano anche la via d’acqua per il trasporto dei cereali mietuti. Nel 2003 è iniziata una profonda ristrutturazione dell’azienda agricola, che pur mantenendo la destinazione cerealicola come destinazione prevalente ha affiancato anche la coltivazione di specie ornamentali, specie ortive e di medicai. Nel 2011 la ristrutturazione dell'’azienda è proseguita con un accurato recupero della villa e delle ali laterali a fini agrituristici. Le camere ed i salotti affrescati, unitamente agli arredi antichi, fanno della Malpensata una residenza di charme per trascorrere un piacevole ed intimo soggiorno. Nel 2014 è stato inaugurato il piccolo ristoro dove è possibile gustare piatti della tradizione locale ed italiana. Vengono utilizzati i prodotti dell'azienda agricola e di quelle limitrofe che sono anche oggetto di vendita diretta in azienda

Corte Malpensata, with its typical Lombard rural architecture is located few kilometers far from Mantua, is surrounded by cultivated fields and the beautiful Carpaneta woods, a 100 hectars forest property of the Lombardy Region. Situated upon a small village, Bigarello in the sorroundings of Mantua, Corte Malpensata dates back to the middle of the 18th century and has always belonged to the family of the actual owner. The original nucleus, consists in the impressive building at the entrance: this building contained the barn and the farmers houses on the upper floor, and the stable downstairs. On the south side of the building there is a large arcade with round arches overlooking what once was the brick farmyard used to dry rice, and which today has been transformed into a spacious lawn. At the end of the 19th century, the owner’s great-grandfather, Ferruccio Castagnari , built on the opposite side of the farmyard, his house consisting of a central building with two lateral wings and a barn for the storage of the boats used in the rice fields. In fact, as many “corti” of the rice-growing area, the Malpensata is completely bounded by channels of water supply for rice paddies and once were used also as waterway for the harvest delivery . In 2003, maintaining cereal cultivation as main destination, cultivation of ornamental plants , vegetables and fruit were introduced . In 2011-13, the villa was restored for touristic purposes, it was completely renovated with new decorations and fully equipped with modern appliances. Frescoed rooms, beautiful and antique furniture spread everywhere and the attractive garden with secular trees make Malpensata a charming residence for a pleasant and cozy stay.
