At I Segreti del Chiostro in Palermo, Sicily’s convent pastry tradition still lives on.

For centuries, the nuns of Santa Caterina created biscuits, pastries, fritters and preserves behind the monastery walls — not only as an art, but also to support the convent itself.

Walking through these rooms feels like stepping into another time: the scent of almonds, sugar and citrus everywhere, ancient recipes carefully preserved, and a little piece of authentic Sicily hidden in the heart of Palermo.

One of those places that makes you slow down and simply enjoy the beauty of Sicilian traditions.

Driving through Sicily in a classic Fiat 500 feels like stepping back in time. 🇮🇹

And honestly — in many of the tiny mountain villages, the streets are so narrow that a small car is actually the best choice.

Slow roads, old stone houses, espresso stops and beautiful views around every corner.
This is the Sicily we love exploring for our guests.

Yesterday we visited Giuseppe and his bees in the beautiful Madonie Mountains — and we are so excited to share that soon we will also offer authentic Sicilian honey from Monte Riparato. 🍯🐝

Our first Sulla-Honey harvest is expected in about two weeks. Giuseppe even gifted us a fresh honeycomb straight from the hive — an unforgettable experience.

Even though I already completed an online beekeeping course in Germany, I believe real knowledge comes from experience. That’s why I want to learn step by step directly from our local beekeeper Giuseppe here in Sicily.

Yesterday we stood among the bees, surrounded by wild flowers and the peaceful nature of the Madonie mountains — and now we cannot wait for the first honey of the season. ✨🍯

Celebrating 30 years of marriage in one of Sicily’s most extraordinary places: St. George by Heinz Beck ✨

Because we always test the best places in Sicily for our guests… this time, for our own special occasion.

An unforgettable evening in Taormina with a breathtaking view, impeccable service, and a 9-course tasting menu that felt like pure art. Every single dish was a masterpiece — visually stunning, perfectly balanced, and full of surprising flavors.

We also had the pleasure of meeting Chef Salvatore Iuliano, the resident chef of St. George by Heinz Beck, and took a photo together after this incredible culinary journey. 

This was more than dinner.
It was an experience we will remember forever.
Sicily never stops amazing us. ❤️

Today we are getting the garden of Casa Mario ready for our guests ☀️🌸

The weather in the Madonie Mountains is absolutely beautiful today — blue skies, warm sunshine and the scent of spring everywhere.

I spent the whole morning planting new flowers on the terrace, watering the garden and enjoying this peaceful little paradise in the heart of Sicily.

Right now, everything is blooming beautifully: strelitzias, roses, geraniums and azaleas. 🌺🌿

Moments like these make me so happy and grateful — preparing Casa Mario with love and knowing that soon our first guests will arrive to enjoy it all.
