We spend so much time planning our holidays. Places to see, things to do, restaurants to try. Sometimes we come back more tired than when we left. But what about going somewhere just to be there? A few days to yourself. Waking up without an alarm, long walks, a book, or absolutely nothing. Our lodges, tucked among the pines along the Tuscan coast, are a lovely place to do just that. But if you feel like a little adventure, there’s plenty of that here too.

A little reminder: Our lodges close for the season on 2 November.

Not his first rodeo.

Meet Alberto, one of our butteri, also known as the cowboys of the Maremma. For centuries, they have ridden across this land looking after the Maremmana cattle, moving the herds across their vast grazing grounds and bringing back the more adventurous newborns.

And if you’re curious, our farm tours can take you a little closer.

Maybe this is our favourite time of day. It’s when, little by little, the house fills up again. The children come home from the beach, or from a playdate with the neighbours that just wouldn’t end. Friends wander over for dinner. Nobody asks who invited who. Somehow, there’s always a friend of a friend. Somehow, there’s always another chair.
