Easter in Catania wouldn’t be complete without Cuddura e Aceddu ccu l’ova, a traditional Sicilian sweet that brings together centuries of culture and delicious flavors.🍞🥚

“Cuddura” comes from the Greek word Kollura, meaning crown, and is typically used to describe various ring-shaped baked goods. But in this case, it refers to a timeless Easter treat – cuddura ccu l’ova, a braided ring-shaped pastry that encases one or more hard-boiled eggs.

Over time, the Aceddu ccu l’ova version evolved, where the dough is shaped into an adorable bird holding an egg – symbolizing the dove, the ultimate symbol of Easter 🕊
