echinacea /nature’s remedies

a few years ago, after trying to grow echinacea from seed, i bought a couple of plants from a nursery (echinacea purpurea magnus) one of which i planted behind the house with the result that moles ate away it’s roots, i lost one plant. the other i kept and still keep in it’s vase, with the few flowers i pick i decided to make a tincture, i have been using this method of conservation of therapeutic properties of certain essences where it is appropriate to take a few drops once a day or more depending on need....

the wholly triad

there is something about the nature of life that has been part of the wisdom of wo/man for as long as he has existed. three fundamental aspects that actively influence what we experience and how, one, is the cosmic i plan, the divine plan, something that cannot really be fathomed by a single being but is there and plays out it’s role....

spirit & matter /natural laws

it is probably the first time in this blog i use the word ‘spirit’, my word for that is consciousness, presence, awareness but there are many who indicate it with the word spirit, let’s take the word spirituality for example, that i use sometimes to indicate our interior ‘world’ of more subtle fenomena not quantifiable such as feelings, thoughts and he/she who is aware and experiencing all of these things....

natural forms

for a lifetime i have been fascinated and inspired by nature’s building blocks: fractals, water and human made objects inspired by nature: flowforms, origami, the geodesic dome. around 2011 i made my first geodesic dome model with origami, i was studying both the transformation from a flat plane into a 3 dimensional object and the geometry of such a sturdy structure....

yarrow / nature’s remedies

yarrow is quite abundant on our land, i have been harvesting flowers for many years, using them mostly dehydrated in infusion. it is said to be ally for the digestive, circulatory, helps metabolism and menstrual cycle for internal use, externally it helps wound repair therefore being an ally to many skin conditions. this year i am also making an oil infusion, letting flowers macerate in cold pressed organic sunflower oil for 40 days, then filtering to use during massage therapies....

breath /nature’s resources

n my observation, breath is our first and foremost instrument of consciousness, the moment your attention rests on your breath, it will, inevitably, bring calm. have you noticed? for many years for me it was natural, attention naturally shifted to the breath, calming the mind and focusing what i sometimes refer to the ‘monkey’ state of attention, where attention bounces frantically from one thing to the next....

prayer / nature’s wonders

there are times when a destination is clear, the long way ahead is accepted, you walk, run, crawl, tire, every thing and any thing is towards that destination, one day it is reached. there are times when a destination is clear, the long way ahead is accepted, you walk, run, crawl, tire, every thing and any thing is towards that destination nonetheless somehow you do not get there, you even begin to doubt that walking will get you anywhere, so you sit, you sit and pray....
