Our rustic town house restored holiday home in Ceriana, a medieval village near Sanremo and Nice.

This newly restored town house is located in Ceriana, an authentic Ligurian 'borgo' only 15 minutes drive from the seaside and about an hour from Nice Airport. Perched on a cliff at the end of a lush valley between the Ligurian sea and the pre-Alps of Piemonte, Ceriana is an ideal base for exploring the region, whether your prefer hiking, swimming, skiing - or just staying put in this charming vil

lage, enjoying the views, the friendly cerianasci and sampling the local cuisine. With its vaulted ceilings, heavy stone walls and terrazzo floors, this house provides the perfect setting for a genuinely rustic italian holiday. In order to create a light and open atmosphere, doors have been removed on all three floors save for the bathroom. The house has three floors and a 25 m2 terrace extending from the top floor with a marvelous view of the mountain terraces that provides world famous olives, truffles and vegetables. With a double bed in the master bedroom, a single bed in the living room and a fold-out double bed on the top floor, there's plenty of room for a family or a small party of friends. This is truly a rare find. An authentic large house nestled in the middle of an intriguing, beautiful medieval town. You find the front door having explored the warren of tiny cobbled streets, stairways and tunnels that make up this brilliant place. When you first enter it does feel like a somewhat unconventional space compared to the cookie cutter apartments and villas you might otherwise find, don't come here if that is what you are looking for. The house is spread across 3 open plan floors, with bedrooms, living space flowing through a series of arches with curtains for privacy. The top floor features the jewel in the Crown, a large terrace with amazing views. Our morning breakfasts became a lovely event each day. The house is also well set up, you can tell that it is a much loved family holiday home. The kitchen has everything you need, and clearly the owners enjoy cooking there, it even has properly sharp knives! Visitors should also check out the natural swimming pool at the bottom of the hill. Such clean water, so refreshing. I was genuinely taken with this town, like nothing I had visited before. Highly recommended!
