Matteo is the third child of Alessandro and Sonia, who 25 years ago, with great enthusiasm and dedication, opened the boutique hotel on one of the corners of Piazza della Signoria.
Like his father Alessandro, Matteo is madly in love with his city...and with sailing. At the hotel, he's ready to offer advice on the best things to see and do in the city.

The golden ball atop Florence Cathedral, 115 meters high, is a gilded copper globe 2.5 meters in diameter and weighing approximately 20 quintals. Designed by the master Andrea del Verrocchio, it was hoisted onto the lantern of Brunelleschi's Dome in 1471. The young Leonardo da Vinci, then an apprentice in Verrocchio's workshop, also actively participated in its construction.
The work has a turbulent relationship with lightning: the most famous struck the structure on the night of January 27, 1601, causing it to fall to the ground. Fortunately, there were no casualties. The exact point of impact is still marked today by a white marble disk near the apse.
