THE FLORENCE YOU WOULDN’T EXPECT
There is a side to Florence that you won’t find in the most popular guidebooks.
It’s the one you discover by strolling at a leisurely pace, observing the details and letting yourself be surprised by what we normally risk missing.
In San Paolino, shop shutters become open-air canvases thanks to Palazzuolo Strada
Aperta, a public art and urban regeneration project which, over the years, has transformed the neighbourhood into a veritable open-air museum.
This year there are 53 artist-designed shutters, including the nine new works created during the 2026 edition.
And in September, you can discover them through five guided street art tours, each lasting around an hour and a half, setting off from the Street Levels Gallery and ending with an aperitif.
• 5, 11, 12, 19 and 26 September
• €10 per person
• Via Palazzuolo 74 A/R

One that’s well worth discovering step by step.
