🍷 Wine Wednesday: Casanuova delle Cerbaie & their Brunello Riserva Vigna Montosoli🍷

Some wines just stay with you. I first discovered this Brunello Riserva at our favorite enoteca in Montalcino - One of those spontaneous finds that leaves an impression long after the glass is empty.

Months later, when friends came to visit, that memory popped into my head and I knew exactly where to take them. Casanuova delle Cerbaie estate Is a small family-run winery tucked into the hills just north of Montalcino. The visit was everything I had hoped for - warm hospitality, a quiet authenticity, and wines that speak beautifully of the land they came from.

Made from 100% Sangiovese Grosso friend on the iconic Montosoli hill, this Riserva spends 30 months in oak, resulting in a deep elegant Brunello layered with cherry, spice, and earthy notes.

Just outside the medieval town of Colle di Val d’Elsa, a stretch of turquoise river winds through the trees, perfect for wild swimming. This week, I’m taking us out of Tuscany and over to the sun-soaked island of Sardinia with one of our go-to summer sippers: Costamolino by Argiolas.

Made from Vermentino, this white is everything you want on a hot day — clean, crisp, citrusy, and cold. Think notes of grapefruit, green apple, and a hint of Mediterranean herbs, all carried on a fresh saline breeze.

It’s the kind of wine you reach for midweek or on a lazy Sunday because the price is right and the vibe is always refreshing.

✨ Not exactly off the beaten path… but often overlooked: Arezzo, Italy ✨

Most travelers breeze right past Arezzo on their way to Florence or Siena — but this under-the-radar Tuscan town deserves so much more attention.

🎬 Cinephiles might recognize the main piazza from La Vita è Bella, filmed right in the heart of town. The same square hosts the Giostra del Saracino, a centuries-old medieval jousting tournament that takes over the city each June and September.

🛍️ On the first weekend of every month, Arezzo transforms into one of Italy’s largest antique markets, filling the piazzas and alleyways with treasures from every era.

🎶 In summer, the city comes alive with open-air concerts, art shows, and al fresco dining — all walkable and easy to explore without the crowds.

It’s elegant without trying too hard, full of history without feeling like a museum, and absolutely worth a slow wander.

✨ Coming Winter 2025, we are opening a new location in St Gervais Les Bains, France. ✨

Located in the French Alps, just over the border of Italy and at the base of Mont Blanc, a 3 bed /3 bath condo will be available for short term rentals.

It is walking distance to the main ski gondola and walking distance to bars and restaurants. It is also a 20 minute drive to Chamonix, an hour from Geneva, and an hour from Annecy.
