One of the things we love most about being here is how much you can fit into a single day — without ever feeling rushed.

Start with a slow morning in Menaggio, perhaps with coffee by the lake. Take the ferry across to discover another village, or head into the hills for a walk and spectacular views.

And when the afternoon gets warm? Find a quiet spot by the lake for a swim, an aperitivo or simply a little time to do nothing at all.

Then come home, pour yourself a glass of wine and watch the light change over the mountains from the terrace.

Lake Como is so much more than beautiful views — it’s the variety of experiences, all within easy reach.

Summer Fridays in Menaggio 🌿✨

One of our favourite summer traditions is the Friday evening market along the lakeside in Menaggio.

From 5 pm every Friday throughout the summer, the promenade comes alive with local artisans, handmade products and a wonderful holiday atmosphere.

It’s the perfect excuse for an evening stroll, finding a unique souvenir, enjoying a gelato or an aperitivo, and watching the sun set over Lake Como.

Simple moments like these are often the ones our guests remember most. 🤍

☀️ 3 days on Lake Como during a summer heatwave

When temperatures climb above 30°C, it’s all about slowing down, finding the water and discovering some of the lake’s most refreshing spots.

Here’s how we’d spend three summer days in Menaggio:

🌊 Day 1 – Menaggio & the Lake

Ease into your holiday by exploring Menaggio’s charming streets, lakeside promenade and local cafés. When the afternoon heat arrives, cool off with a swim in the lake before enjoying a relaxed evening by the water.

🚤 Day 2 – Bellano & the Orrido

Take the ferry across the lake and visit the spectacular Orrido di Bellano. This natural gorge, carved by rushing water over thousands of years, offers a refreshing escape and a fascinating glimpse into the power of nature.

🌿 Day 3 – Val Sanagra

Discover one of our favourite hidden gems: Val Sanagra, the nature reserve just behind our house. Follow the trails through the valley, cool your feet in the crystal-clear river, and finish with lunch at Agriturismo Chioderia, the local trout farm surrounded by nature.

Three days of swimming, exploring and staying cool while experiencing a different side of Lake Como.

What our guests loved most about their stay…
