Ottmanngut × Winter Deli

Every year, when September turns into October, we find ourselves asking the same question:
What do we long for during the colder months at Ottmanngut?

Slow breakfasts with family and loved ones. Cozy, warm rooms. Vinyl spinning endlessly in the living room. A good book, a comforting meal, and nowhere else to be.

From December 3rd to December 21st, you can stay with us and enjoy Ottmanngut and Merano during their quiet time.

Breakfast will be served daily from 9:00–12:00, Ottmanngut style.

And from Thursday to Sunday, our doors will also be open to everyone for breakfast that slowly turns into lunch at our Winter Deli.
Think classic Ottmanngut breakfast plates: homemade bread, good butter, cheese, jam and a soft-boiled egg. A warm bowl of comforting porridge. Coffee that keeps coming.
And then, somehow, it’s lunchtime.
Homemade pasta, braised vegetables, and crisp baguettes filled with ham, cheese and pickles — simple, generous food for cold days and long afternoons at the table.

For now, mark the dates and book your stay with us. We’ll have the rooms warm and the tables waiting.

Third time’s the charm.

Tomorrow 15th August we’re opening the doors for our third W**e Bar with Michl – an evening of his favourite bottles and our finest bar bites.
Think crisp ham & cheese toast, our beloved Ottmanngut fries, something fresh, something fruity, and a glass of whatever Michl can’t stop talking about this season. Add good people, good music, and that soft golden light that only summer evenings know how to make.
It’s the kind of night you don’t really plan – you just show up, pour, and stay a little longer than you meant to.

Doors open at 5.30pm. Come whenever the evening calls you.

Everything started with the idea of dinners at Ottmanngut.❤️‍🔥

Before 2022, we had never served dinner here. Then .benettj joined our team, and with him, Martin’s dream of turning Ottmanngut into a place for dinner finally came to life.
Together with the wonderful .larsn the Tavolata slowly grew into something people didn’t want to miss: two evenings a week, bringing together Ottmanngut guests and people from Merano around one table.

The recipe was simple: the freshest produce from our farmers, a plate of pasta, our homemade w**e, and a table full of curious, passionate people.

A lot has happened since then. Dinners with our good friends Jakob & Ethel, little pop-ups, long evenings, new faces and familiar ones. We love looking back at all those moments — and at the same time, we’re very excited about what’s still to come.

This week, we’re going all in for our first Tavolata of the year.

We’ll start with an aperitivo in the garden, before moving under the pergola. There’ll be spreads of fresh vegetables, grilled and raw, followed by a lovely Mediterranean main course and something sweet to finish.

Because these evenings have never really been just about food. They’re about slowing down for a moment. Sharing a plate with someone you love, and perhaps with someone you’ve only just met. Talking about small things. Staying a little longer. Making connections in a world that seems to move faster every day.

And then, for Ferragosto weekend, we’re shaking things up again with another episode of WEINBAR MIT MICHL.

Think lively neighbourhood bistro, good w**es, small and big bites, our OMG fries, homemade Schinken-Käse Toast, and palm trees swaying overhead.

Futura watching Ottmanngut and all its people slowly wake up after the summer break.

Fresh red currants—or, as we lovingly call them, Ribisl—from Valentinhof - Hofladen in Meran. They’re already safely turned into jam. ;)

Our Frida wearing our new Tshirts made in collaboration with Karin & Sandra including Miki. Focacceria Ottmanngut is officially a thing now. Book us! ;)
