Modica, "the town of the 100 churches", is a baroque center of Val di Noto, inserted in the World Heritage List by Unesco. With an ancient and noble history, it was the principal centre of the famous County of Modica.

In addition to its monumental and architectural patrimony, Modica is worldwide known for its chocolate, made according to the ancient Aztec recipe.
