We know a little more about the history of Umbrian olive oil.....

Umbria has always been among the Italian regions most famous to olive growing and in this green land the cultivation of olive trees has very ancient origins; as testified by the presence of several centuries-old plants, including the olive tree of Sant'Emiliano in Trevi of estimated age around 1700 years.

In Umbria, the first population to practice this cultivation were the Etruscans and many Umbrian cities gravitating in the orbit of ancient Etruria were enriched and prospered thanks to the production and marketing of oil.

The Organic Farm Cornieto extends over an entire hill on the border between Umbria and Tuscany, a stone's throw from Orvieto, in the land of the mysterious Etruscan civilization, basing its production, as this civilization did many centuries ago, on a excellent Monovarietal production of Extra Virgin Olive Oil : Leccino, Frantoio and Moraiolo.
