The 12th edition of the international triathlon event kicked off today with the Sprint race, bringing athletes together for a thrilling challenge along the beautiful coastline of Southern Sardinia.

The countdown is almost over!

This morning, Forte Village hosted the official press conference presenting the 12th edition of Challenge Forte Village Sardinia, part of the international Challenge Family circuit, taking place on 24 and 25 October.

The event will welcome over 500 athletes, including 60 professionals from 12 nations, for an exciting weekend of international triathlon.

Representatives of local institutions, race organisers and leading athletes gathered to present the programme, which combines world-class competition with initiatives dedicated to solidarity and the local community.

The event is organised by Ajoha Sardinia A.S.D. with the support of the Department of Tourism, Crafts and Commerce of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia. RAS - Regione Autonoma della Sardegna

Questa mattina il Forte Village ha ospitato la conferenza stampa di presentazione della 12ª edizione del Challenge Forte Village Sardinia, appuntamento internazionale di triathlon parte del circuito Challenge Family, in programma il 24 e 25 ottobre.

Saranno oltre 500 gli atleti al via, tra cui 60 professionisti provenienti da 12 nazioni, pronti a sfidarsi in un weekend di grande sport.

Rappresentanti delle istituzioni, organizzatori e protagonisti del mondo sportivo si sono riuniti per presentare il programma della manifestazione, che affiancherà alle competizioni anche iniziative dedicate alla solidarietà e al territorio.

L’evento è organizzato da Ajoha Sardinia A.S.D. con il supporto dell’Assessorato del Turismo, Artigianato e Commercio della Regione Sardegna.

Sometimes, the most memorable stories begin with a simple game of football.

In the second episode of the new Netflix documentary “Mourinho”, José Mourinho shares an anecdote that takes us back to Forte Village in 2007.

At the time, Roman Abramovich, then owner of Chelsea FC, was aboard his yacht anchored off the coast of Forte Village, where he kept losing football matches against the resort's staff.

Determined to win, he asked Peter Kenyon, Chelsea's Chief Executive at the time, to convince Mourinho to join him at the resort. Mourinho refused: Chelsea had a match the following day, and his priority was his team. A decision Abramovich didn't take particularly well!

What began as a friendly football rivalry eventually led to something much bigger: the Chelsea Football Academy at Forte Village, which became a highlight of our sports offering for many years, giving young guests the opportunity to train in the spirit of one of the world's most celebrated football clubs.

A special chapter in Forte Village's history, now brought back to life through Mourinho's own words.

A volte, le storie più belle nascono da una semplice partita di calcio.

Nel secondo episodio del nuovo documentario Netflix “Mourinho”, José Mourinho racconta un curioso aneddoto che ci riporta al Forte Village nel 2007.

All'epoca, Roman Abramovich, proprietario del Chelsea FC, si trovava a bordo del suo yacht al largo del Forte Village, dove continuava a perdere le partite di calcio contro lo staff del resort.

Deciso a vincere, chiese a Peter Kenyon, allora Chief Executive del Chelsea, di convincere Mourinho a raggiungerlo al resort. Ma Mourinho rifiutò: il giorno seguente il Chelsea aveva una partita e la sua priorità era la squadra. Una decisione che Abramovich non prese affatto bene!

Da quella simpatica rivalità calcistica nacque qualcosa di molto più grande: la Chelsea Football Academy al Forte Village, che per molti anni ha arricchito la nostra offerta sportiva, permettendo ai giovani ospiti di allenarsi sulle orme di uno dei club più prestigiosi al mondo.

Un capitolo speciale della storia del Forte Village, oggi riportato alla luce dalle parole dello stesso Mourinho.
