✨ Villa Angelica – A Journey Through the Centuries ✨

🚴‍♂️ The Call of the Trails – A Mountain Biking Adventure from Villa Angelica 🚴‍♂️

The first rays of sunlight painted the ancient walls of Villa Angelica in golden hues. The garden awakened—birds singing, the Albola stream whispering, and the crisp mountain air filling the morning. But today was different. Today was made for adventure.

🔹 A Journey Begins
Rafael tightened his gloves, his gaze fixed on the towering peaks embracing Lake Garda. A map lay before him, marked with red trails—each one a promise of rugged climbs, thrilling descents, and breathtaking views.
"Today is the day," he grinned, rolling out of the villa’s grand entrance.

🔹 The Legendary Ponale Road
The first challenge: the iconic Ponale Road. Once a military fortification, now a paradise for bikers. The gravel crunched beneath his wheels, the path twisting through ancient rock. Below, the deep blue lake sparkled, while the wind carried echoes of adventure over the cliffs.

🔹 Pushing Higher – Punta Larici
But Rafael craved more. Punta Larici—one of the most stunning viewpoints over Lake Garda—called to him. The trail steepened, roots twisted like nature’s own obstacles, breath grew heavier. Yet, after the last grueling climb, he stood victorious.

🏞️ The world stretched before him—the lake shimmering like silver, the mountains casting long shadows across the valley. Time stood still.

🔹 Rushing Down to Freedom
Then came the descent—pure freedom. Speeding through fragrant pine forests, crossing wooden bridges over glistening streams, and finally arriving at Lake Ledro, its peaceful waters inviting him for a break.

🔹 A Hidden Gem – Lake Tenno
But the adventure wasn’t over yet. A hidden trail led to Lake Tenno, a turquoise jewel nestled in the mountains. Flowing singletracks, technical challenges, and the final reward: the tranquil, crystal-clear waters.

🔹 Back to Villa Angelica
As the sun dipped behind the peaks, Rafael returned to Villa Angelica, stretching out in the park, reliving the day’s thrills. The villa wasn’t just a starting point—it was part of the magic, part of the history of these breathtaking landscapes.

And tomorrow? Another adventure awaits…

The historical Apartment Rafael is furnished with great attention to detail and consists of a bright living room with a multifunctional integrated kitchen, a cozy separate bedroom, and a private bathroom with shower.

The paintings on the walls are made with the trompe d’oeil technique while
tiles were used for the construction of the floor.

The apartment comes furnished with a modern flat screen satellite TV and free internet access.

Personally, Rafael is a great option for couples and young visitors that want to enjoy the “privilege” of being the closest to the pool area 🏊‍♂️

🎉Massive Season Update 🎉

Our beautiful new Sauna has arrived, just in time for the Easter Holidays. First feedback from our early spring guests has been great.

We cannot stretch out enough how beneficial an afternoon/ evening sauna can be for your body and inner spirit.

Villa Angelica is officially open.
It took less then 5 minutes for our first guest before engaging in an accurate “dog pool” quality check ☑️

An activity we highly reccomend to all our dear guests, especially during spring season, is the breathtaking hiking experience ( don’t be fooled by the word hiking, the path is also suitable for beginners 😏) up to the Santa Barbara church which is perched on the steep walls of Mount Rocchetta (1565 m.) Santa Barbara is located directly above Riva del Garda ( as you can see from the incredible view shown in picture 3). The ‘chiesetta’ is reached by a rather steep path but with a constant slope.
The start of the excursion is located west of Riva in via monte Oro, but we have even greater news for our beloved visitors 😀 There is an alternative ( completely regulated) path that start directly next to the gate pf Villa Angelica and leads to a connecting path that will guide you directly to Santa Barbara: in addition, you will be able to walk to the side of river Albola.

Are you crawing for a cold refreshing drink or some authentic food? Say less ! The Bastione Lounge & Restaurant ( picture 4) got you covered! In recent years, the Bastion could only be reached via the pedestrian path that has been mentioned above, with a travel time of about 20 minutes. While today, the new alternative mobility proposal, that is the inclined lift, will guarantee accessibility in about 3 minutes of travel, with a panoramic view of the Upper Garda. The lift is accessible from via Monte Oro.

Santa Barbara can be reached in about 60-90 Minutes from our Villa, and is perfectly suitable for dogs.

As a local Riva family, we can gladly say that there ia hardly any better way to start spring season at Villa Angelica.

San Cassiano is an authentic apartment, still in original conditions since 1810; It covers the entire first floor of the right wall of the building and was originally used as a reception area for the most prestigious guests such as Vincenzo Errante. The original parquet and the ceramic stove in the large central hall provide a timeless feeling of immersion into the history of the Villa.

A great benefit you will experience during your stay at San Cassiano, is thermal protection which is caused by our walls that are mainly made of stone. Therefore, you will be able to enjoy a fresh and revitalizing vacation , especially on those hotter days 🌞😄

Umberto Eco is a beautiful apartment of 115 SQM. It extends over the entire second flor of the right wing of the house and is suitable for 4-7 people. The Umberto Eco Apartment overlooks the internal court of Villa Angelica, its park, the Albola River ( best remedy for hot temperatures in summer ) and our beautiful mountains. Take a dive into the history of the Villa!
