Winner of CLASSE V – LE BARCHETTE FERRARI, this 1951 Ferrari 340 America Barchetta by Carrozzeria Touring stands among the most significant early competition Ferraris of its era.
Delivered in June 1951 to Pierre Louis-Dreyfus, a decorated WWII veteran, chassis 0116 A was immediately entered into that year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans before returning again in 1952. Though it failed to finish on both occasions, the car quickly established its reputation for remarkable pace and endurance.
A few years later, the car was acquired by Pierre Bardinon, becoming part of one of Europe’s most important Ferrari collections, before undergoing a restoration focused on preserving its original configuration and historical identity.
The car would later return to Italy, participating in numerous editions of the Mille Miglia and continuing to build its legacy within the world of historic motorsport.
A remarkable Ferrari whose racing spirit and provenance continue to resonate decades later.
