Qua a San Miniato la nebbia che sale al mattino dalla valle dipinge il paesaggio di magia attorno all’ostello. La Via Francigena diventa più intima e favorisce il raccoglimento spirituale: l’atmosfera è infatti sospesa e invita al dialogo interiore. Ma il Cammino va vissuto in ogni aspetto e dunque è anche il momento perfetto per assaporare i piatti tipici della stagione ad ogni tappa, per vivere il cammino pienamente! Funghi, castagne, e qui in Toscana 𝐥𝐚 𝐳𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐚 𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐨 𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐨 o quella 𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐚 per riscaldarsi di sera….senza dimenticare che San Miniato in questi giorni profuma già del suo re indiscusso, il tartufo bianco.
E allora fra i campanili e i borghi arroccati toscani le nostre porte sono aperte per darvi ristoro pellegrini, vi aspettiamo a braccia aperte. 🫂

Here in San Miniato, the morning mist rising from the valley paints the landscape around the hostel with magic. The Via Francigena becomes more intimate, encouraging spiritual reflection: the atmosphere feels suspended in time, inviting inner dialogue. Yet, the Journey must be experienced in every aspect, making it the perfect moment to savor the typical seasonal dishes at every stage and live the Cammino to the fullest! Mushrooms, chestnuts, and here in Tuscany, 𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐜𝐚𝐛𝐛𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐩 or 𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐩 to warm you up in the evening... without forgetting that in these days, San Miniato already fills the air with the scent of its undisputed king, the white truffle.

Da qui si può ammirare la chiesa del Santissimo Crocifisso e la sua scalinata che dà sulla via che scende per piazza Bonaparte e che poi prosegue per il lato est del borgo. Si trova a pochi passi dal nostro ostello ed è questo fra l'altro il percorso che i pellegrini seguono per immettersi nuovamente sul sentiero francigeno. 👣

From here, you can admire the Church of the Santissimo Crocifisso and its staircase, which overlooks the street leading down to Piazza Bonaparte and continues toward the eastern side of our village . It is located just a short walk from our hostel and this is also the route that pilgrims follow to return to the Via Francigena trail.👣

𝐂𝐡𝐢 𝐥’𝐡𝐚 𝐝𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐥 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧 𝐥’𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞?💛
Quando il sentiero si imbrunisce e le foglie divengono rossastre, la Via Francigena svela il volto più autentico per molti. La luce del sole di ottobre che filtra tra i rami dorati scalda l'aria frizzante del mattino. I pellegrini partiti come sconosciuti camminano fianco a fianco condividendo passi, storie, sorrisi. Il silenzio regna in autunno e ogni panorama sembra un dipinto.
C'è chi vive il cammino in solitaria o più spesso in gruppo, ma di certo resta uguale il desiderio di trovare un rifugio accogliente dopo il lungo peregrinare di ogni tappa; un posto come l’Ostello San Miniato dove poter togliere lo zaino e bere qualcosa di caldo. Non ci lasciamo mica scoraggiare dal vento e dalla pioggia di inizio autunno? E’ vero, la vita da pellegrini comporta fatica, gambe pesanti ma anche tante soddisfazioni: la bellezza dei sentieri, i paesaggi e gli scorci, senza di certo tralasciare il cammino spirituale che si compie lungo la via.

L’Ostello San Miniato non accoglie solo i cari pellegrini ma anche i turisti che vogliono approfittare della nostra struttura ricettiva per godere di momenti di leggerezza.
Dopo aver effettuato il check-in e lasciato i bagagli, uscite per ammirare le bellezze storiche della città con l’aria fresca di settembre. Troverete la Torre di Federico II, la Cattedrale e il Museo Diocesano d'Arte Sacra, e ancora la Piazza del Seminario senza dimenticare che di sera San Miniato tutta si anima con la vita notturna e i locali alla moda lungo le sue vie storiche. 💛

Cari amici, Marco Maccarini, volto tv e simbolo di MTV Italia dal 1998 al 2004 in ostello! Dal 2005 infatti ha iniziato a vivere il cammino, iniziando da quello di Santiago per continuare fino ad oggi. Da ricordare il cammino-evento di 400 km lungo il tratto toscano della Via Francigena, dal Passo della Cisa fino a Radicofani. E ancora ha percorso la Via degli Dei, il Cammino di Francesco… Nel 2025 ha pubblicato persino un libro dedicato al cammino presentato su RAI3 durante il programma Kilimangiaro. Qui lo vediamo in compagnia della nostra receptionist Marisa che l'ha accolto da noi in questi giorni, rimasta colpita dalla sua socievolezza e solarità! Ma che bello quanto volti noti del cammino, gruppi numerosi o anche volti tv come in questo caso scelgono il nostro ostello come luogo di sosta e ristoro lungo il cammino francigeno! Dear friends, Marco Maccarini—TV personality and the iconic face of MTV Italy from 1998 to 2004—stayed at our hostel! Back in 2005, he began his journey as a walker, starting with the Camino de Santiago and continuing to this day. Among his many journeys, we must mention his 400 km walking event along the Tuscan section of the Via Francigena, from the Cisa Pass to Radicofani. He has also walked the Via degli Dei (Path of the Gods) and the St. Francis Way... In 2025, he even published a book dedicated to walking, which he presented on RAI3 during the TV show Kilimangiaro.Here he is with our receptionist Marisa, who welcomed him over the last few days and was deeply impressed by his warm, sunny, and outgoing personality! La Via Francigena in estate ha un sapore unico, soprattutto qui da noi tra le colline dorate della Toscana dove il sentiero per Roma si colora del verde dei cipressi e dell'ocra della terra. 🥾

The Via Francigena in summer has a unique flavor, especially here with us among the golden hills of Tuscany, where the path to Rome is colored by the green of cypresses and the ochre of the earth. 🥾

Dopo aver pernottato qui da noi a San Miniato si sono fermati qualche giorno a Firenze per conoscere meglio il capoluogo toscano. Poi di nuovo in viaggio sulla Via Francigena direzione Siena!
Come ricordo ci hanno lasciato questi scatti che testimoniano quanto sia bello per noi ospitare i viandanti, ancor di più se giovani e speranzosi. E poi condividere gioie, intenzioni di viaggio, momenti insieme...davvero impagabile, 𝒗𝒊𝒗𝒂 𝒍𝒂 𝒗𝒊𝒕𝒂 𝒊𝒏 𝒄𝒂𝒎𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒐.

After staying overnight with us here in San Miniato, they stopped for a few days in Florence to get to know the Tuscan capital better. Then on the road again on the Via Francigena heading towards Siena!As a keepsake, they left us these shots that show how beautiful it is for us to host travelers, even more so if they are young and full of hope. And then sharing joys, travel intentions, moments together... truly priceless, 𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒐𝒂𝒅.
