One opens onto olive branches and old shutters.

Another looks across terracotta rooftops.

From another, the view opens out across the Umbrian hills.

These are the small things that become part of your stay at Nido di Gufi. The view you wake up to. The window you pause beside with your coffee. The light you notice changing as the afternoon slips into evening.

CICCIA, GUBBIO & MEANDERING… 🤩

We were back in Gubbio on Saturday for Ciccia — the Italian sausage festival!

Imagine wandering through hidden corners of this wonderful medieval town, discovering historic taverns, sipping w**e and tasting your way through Italy’s sausage traditions. From salami to sizzling sausages, regional cheeses and all sorts of delicious treats.

The weather was perfect, the crowds were lovely, and the exhibitors were full of knowledge, stories and good cheer.

Honestly? The perfect way to meander through a medieval town and spend a day discovering the flavours of Umbria.

Gubbio, you never disappoint. ❤️

Mentally, we’re here.

Somewhere between the old stone streets, the bells carrying across the rooftops and that moment in the evening when Todi turns gold.

No rushing to the next thing.

Just a table in the piazza. A walk with nowhere particular to get to. The light changing on buildings that have stood here for centuries.

We know the feeling of being somewhere else entirely, while a little part of you is still here.
