So good having my cousin Hans 🇩🇪🇨🇭 staying with us. He was only passing through to get to his place in Ostuni but we are secretly hoping he is going to stay for a while longer.🤞Not only is he helpful💪 at the palazzo, but he is great fun too🥳; never a dull moment.

No, not quite finished yet, but because these tiles in the future Reception/my office are proving incredibly difficult to clean, we have decided to map out those tiles that will be most visible so I can concentrate on them first. However, I've decided that these can be done in the future once we've moved in and so I will now move on to the two rooms that are left to do as these will be used more and, without the tiles cleaned and varnished we cannot move in our belongings.
Thankfully, my lovely cousin Hans 🇩🇪🇨🇭 has been staying with us and has been helping Andrew with the hard labour, including moving furniture around. 😀 💪

Toiling and Tiling; My trying and time consuming tiling task. Check out our latest video - link in comments below.

Unfortunately so many of our beautiful tiles are covered in cement blobs from all the building work over the years. Before we can move in there is the tough job of restoring our antique terracotta tiles at our ancient Italian palazzo in Abruzzo.

The tiles need to be cleaned and then varnished to protect them. Once this is done we can move in our furniture but that's still a long way off as you will see from this video. I'm tackling one of the smaller rooms; Reception, in which there are nearly 500 tiles of which a huge percentage require more than just an acid rinse.

As the floors/tiles are uneven an industrial machine won't do the job as it may only clean parts of the tiles.

Still cleaning and varnishing the tiles 😴 I will count them all up at some point after I've finished. If I do it now, it may just put me off 😅. Look who joined me today.
