One of the most interesting places in Wadi Rum is this old Ottoman train

This train is connected to the old Hejaz Railway and the history of the Great Arab Revolt. More than 100 years ago, trains like this were used to carry soldiers and supplies through the desert.

Today, it is still standing here between the mountains of Wadi Rum.

Every time I pass by this place, I imagine how different the desert must have looked back then.

Wadi Rum is not only about beautiful views. There is a lot of history hidden here too. HejazRailway JordanHistory VisitJordan WadiRumJordan History DesertHistory
