Kyoto’s Calendar of Seasons — The Cherry Blossoms Have Arrived

This morning, Kyoto quietly whispered that spring had finally come.
Along the river and through the old streets, soft pink blossoms began to open, as if they had been waiting for the perfect moment.

People slowed their steps, looking up at the sky painted in petals.
For just a short time, the city wears its most delicate beauty—fleeting, gentle, and unforgettable.

The cherry blossoms are here.
And once again, Kyoto reminds us how beautiful it is to pause, to breathe, and to simply be.

Nijō Castle (Kyoto)
Nijō Castle is a historic castle in Kyoto, built in 1603 as the residence of Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first shogun of the Edo period. It is famous for its beautiful gardens, elegant buildings, and “nightingale floors” that chirp when walked on to protect against intruders.
