From a leopard returning to a meal that had already been cleared by hyenas to a newborn giraffe taking her first steps, this week brought plenty of memorable moments in the wild. And apparently, even our Nairobi workshop has wildlife inspectors! ๐พ
Here are some of the highlights from across our camps and conservancies.

The Sampu Enkare Breakaway Pride was among this week's highlights, with our resident lions continuing to make their presence known in the conservancy. As always, Ol Kinyei offers wonderful opportunities to observe these magnificent cats in their natural habitat.

The week brought sightings of a lion enjoying some downtime, a well-fed male lion on the move, and a wonderful mix of wildlife, including rhinos, buffaloes, zebras, elephants and waterbucks. Plenty to keep those binoculars busy!

Our sightings included giraffes, elands, impalas and a variety of birds. We also had a special visitor at Porini Amboseli Camp: Umoja!

Sometimes, the best wildlife stories unfold when nobody is watching. Our Camp Manager, Jimmy Lemara, shared an interesting discovery following a suspected leopard kill near camp.
After finding an impala carcass and hearing baboon alarm calls the previous night, Jimmy suspected a leopard might have been responsible. He set up a camera trap, which captured the leopard returning to check on its meal the following morning.
There was just one problem: the hyenas had already found the carcass and finished it!
The leopard returned to the scene, only to discover that its dinner had been served and cleared by an uninvited team of scavengers. Out in the wild, even the best hunters don't always get the last bite!

A beautiful moment unfolded as a newborn giraffe took her first steps. We also spotted a lion feeding on a carcass and adorable lion cubs exploring their world. From the earliest moments of life to the realities of the food chain, the bush continues to tell its stories.

This week's highlights included a rhino and her calf, along with sightings of giraffes. There's something particularly special about seeing wildlife with their young, offering a glimpse of the next generation.

Even our Land Cruiser workshop has its share of wildlife visitors!
A white-tailed mongoose made an appearance at our workshop, seemingly carrying out its own inspection of the premises. Perhaps it was checking whether the vehicles were safari-ready!
It's all part of a normal day at Gamewatchers HQ, where wildlife encounters aren't limited to the conservancies and national parks.
