We didn’t clear the forest to build Surana Mara Camp. We let the forest decide how we’d build it.

Look closely from above and you’ll barely spot us - our tents sit tucked beneath the canopy, hidden among mature indigenous trees we chose to preserve rather than remove.

And the work doesn’t stop there; we continue to restore and replant this landscape, for the wildlife that calls it home and for the generations of guests still to come.

Below us, the Mara River carries on doing what it’s done for generations, drawing elephants, big cats and everything in between to its banks, and setting the scene for life at camp, morning, noon and night.

Our favourite compliment? Guests telling us the wildlife barely notices we’re here. That’s not by accident. That’s exactly the point.
