Q. What did you most want to show about HOTEL28 through your film?

What stood out to us most when we first saw HOTEL28 was its unique atmosphere. It has cinematic and retro elements throughout the space, while still feeling sophisticated overall.

Rather than simply introducing HOTEL28 as a hotel, we wanted to portray it like a scene from a film. We felt this also fit well with the brand image, ‘Your Stay, Your Spotlight.’ So we created the video as if a film were beginning, opening with the camera aperture revealing a new space.

Q. 이번 영상을 통해 가장 보여주고 싶었던 Hotel28의 모습은 무엇이었나요?

처음 호텔을 봤을 때 가장 인상적이었던 것은 일반적인 호텔과는 다른 분위기였습니다. 공간 곳곳에 영화적인 요소와 레트로한 감성이 있으면서도 전체적으로는 세련된 느낌이 있었습니다.

그래서 Hotel28을 단순히 호텔 공간으로 소개하기보다, 영화 속 한 장면처럼 보여주고 싶었습니다. 특히 ‘Your Stay, Your Spotlight.’라는 브랜드 이미지와도 잘 어울린다고 생각해, 카메라 조리개가 열리며 새로운 공간이 펼쳐지는 장면을 시작으로 하나의 영화가 시작되는 듯한 흐름으로 구성했습니다.

Q. What kind of place was HOTEL28 through your eyes?

To us, HOTEL28 was a hotel with a very distinctive atmosphere. It has the clean and comfortable feel of a typical hotel, but also features elements reminiscent of cinema and old theaters, which made it especially enjoyable to film.

As visual creators, exploring the space felt almost like walking through a film museum, with so many details to discover along the way.

Q. 여러분의 눈에 비친 Hotel28은 어떤 곳이었나요?

저희에게 Hotel28은 조금 특별한 분위기를 가진 호텔이었습니다. 일반적인 호텔처럼 깔끔하고 편안하면서도, 곳곳에 영화나 오래된 극장을 떠올리게 하는 요소들이 있어 촬영하는 입장에서도 굉장히 재미있는 공간이었습니다.

영상 작업을 하는 저희에게는 마치 영화 박물관을 둘러보는 것처럼 공간 곳곳을 발견하는 재미가 있었고, 자연스럽게 시선이 머무는 디테일도 많았습니다.

Q. What did you most want to show about HOTEL28 through your film?

What stood out to me most about HOTEL28 was that it is a movie-themed boutique hotel. Rather than introducing the rooms and facilities like a typical hotel, I wanted to see the hotel itself as a space from a movie.

I was also impressed by its very long hallway. So, I paid homage to scenes from The Shining, first showing the hotel as a tense space from a movie, and then transitioning to scenes of traveling around Seoul.

The HOTEL28 I wanted to show was not simply a hotel to sleep in, but a boutique hotel where movie lovers can experience the space itself like a scene from a movie and relax.

Q. 이번 영상을 통해 가장 보여주고 싶었던 HOTEL28의 모습은 무엇이었나요?

호텔28을 접했을 때 가장 인상적이었던 것은 영화를 테마로 한 부티크 호텔이라는 점이었습니다. 일반적인 호텔처럼 객실이나 시설을 소개하기보다는, 호텔 자체를 하나의 영화 속 공간처럼 바라보고 싶었습니다.

또한 내부에 아주 긴 복도를 가지고 있는 점에 주목해, 영화 The Shining의 장면들을 오마주하여 호텔을 처음에는 긴장감 넘치는 영화 속 공간처럼 보여주고, 이후에는 그 공간을 벗어나 서울을 여행하는 모습으로 전환했습니다.

제가 보여주고 싶었던 호텔28은 단순히 잠을 자는 호텔이 아니라, 영화를 좋아하는 사람이라면 공간 자체를 하나의 장면처럼 경험하고 휴식할 수 있는 부티크 호텔이었습니다.

Q. What kind of place was HOTEL28 through your eyes?

So, in this video, I wanted to present the hotel not simply as a backdrop, but as a cinematic space where the protagonist’s story begins and ends. A place with as many different stories as there are rooms—that is what HOTEL28 means to me.

저에게 HOTEL28은 영화, 특히 한국영화의 역사를 담은 공간 같은 곳이었습니다. 일반적인 영화 박물관과 다른 점은 관객이 아닌 실제 투숙객이 영화와 관련된 공간에 직접 들어와 머물며 자신의 이야기를 만들어갈 수 있다는 것입니다.

그래서 이번 영상에서도 호텔을 단순한 배경이 아니라, 주인공의 이야기가 시작되고 끝나는 하나의 영화적 공간으로 표현했습니다. 객실의 수만큼 다양한 이야기가 있는 곳, 그곳이 HOTEL28이라고 생각합니다.

Q. What did you most want to show about HOTEL28 through your film?

I wanted to portray the experience of staying at a hotel in a more cinematic way. In particular, I focused on sound as a key element in creating the atmosphere of the film. I wanted to convey the mood of the space and the experience of being there through sounds that you might naturally hear inside a hotel room.
For example, I incorporated everyday sounds such as water boiling in the kettle, coffee being brewed, popcorn being eaten, and curtains opening and closing. I carefully placed these sounds in rhythm with each scene so that the video would go beyond simply showing what the hotel looks like. I wanted viewers to feel as if they were actually staying in the space themselves, experiencing the atmosphere through both sight and sound.

Q. 이번 영상을 통해 가장 보여주고 싶었던 HOTEL28의 모습은 무엇이었나요?

저는 호텔에서의 경험을 조금 더 시네마틱하게 풀어내고 싶었습니다. 특히 영상의 분위기를 만드는 데 있어 사운드에 집중했습니다. 호텔 객실에서 자연스럽게 들을 수 있는 소리들을 활용해 공간의 분위기와 경험을 전달하고자 했습니다.
예를 들어 커피포트에서 물이 끓는 소리, 커피를 내리는 소리, 팝콘을 먹는 소리, 커튼을 여닫는 소리처럼 객실 안에서 쉽게 접할 수 있는 일상적인 요소들을 적극적으로 활용했습니다. 이러한 소리들을 영상의 장면과 리듬에 맞게 배치함으로써 단순히 호텔의 모습을 보여주는 것을 넘어, 시청자가 실제로 그 공간에 머무르는 듯한 느낌을 경험할 수 있도록 표현하고 싶었습니다.

What impressed me most about HOTEL28 was how specifically and consistently the theme of cinema is expressed throughout the hotel. It didn’t feel like a space where a few movie-related props had simply been placed around. From the gallery and camera objects to details that could easily go unnoticed, such as the room numbers, everything was connected through one cohesive concept.
As I filmed, I enjoyed discovering new details, and during the editing process, I naturally found myself thinking about how to capture the hotel’s unique atmosphere. Rather than each space existing independently, I felt that all of these elemen

Q. What did you most want to show about HOTEL28 through your film?
