-- 2 DAYS UNTIL OUR 10TH ANNIVERSARY --

In two days (October 15, 2026), we will have been open for 10 years. After a lot of hard work, the doors to our guesthouse opened on October 10, 2026. It was a ‘leap of faith,’ but one we were happy to take and looked forward to with optimism. We opened with just a single room. The first guests arrived shortly after. There weren’t many of them yet (we were still relatively unknown and couldn't be found on Booking, Airbnb, etc.), but it certainly gave us hope.

Now, nearly 10 years later, we’ve experienced many wonderful moments—and some less wonderful ones—but we are still here; we have high ratings and seem to be truly appreciated by many people. That is, of course, a wonderful feeling.

Do you like cooking? Do you want to learn how to cook the delicious Lao food? That's nice! Since 2016 we offer our 4000 Islands Cooking Class. A fun way to learn how to cook, get to know more about Lao culture and enjoy the beautiful river views while you're preparing your own food.

The cooking class starts in the morning with a guided visit (English and Lao spoken) to the market on the mainland. You can ask everything about the market, the people, taste food, and learn more about Lao culture and food.

Boat transport from Don Det or Don Khone (8 km from Don Det; you can also cycle, walk, or ride a motorbike to us.) can be arranged if you're staying there. But of course, you can also stay in our guesthouse.
