For travellers looking for a "back to nature" experience in Vang Vieng,Laos. The campsite is situated on the banks of the Nam Song river close to beautiful Karst mountains. There is one large tent for up to 14 people. Cook your own food on camp fires, wash in the river, make your own entertainment ( there is NO electricity or WIFI onsite) There are many beautiful walks possible in the surrounding
area. It is a 25 minute walk down the river to the nearest restaurant and the start of the tubing. The campsite is aimed at self reliant people who would like to experience living very simply in a close communal situation and to appreciate the awesome natural environment of Laos. The campsite is open from the beginning of December. Costs are 20,000 kip per night for a mattress and use of cooking utensils. The tent has one big mosquito net to create a safe sleeping environment. The site is 6 kms from Vang Vieng. To get there you should first visit Pans Place guesthouse which is on the main street in Vang Vieng. The reception can give you further information and arrange transport to the site, also there is a secure room where you can leave your excess luggage if you want. All you are really going to need is some clothes , toiletries, a head light and food. The site is situated on the far side of the Nam Song so access involves wading across the river which is not TOO difficult but is easier with just a small pack Food staples such as rice, cooking oil, muesli, pasta, eggs etc; will be available to buy onsite but other items you will need to bring with you.
