The Culinary Skills and Innovation Lab 2026 brought together Executive Chefs, Sous Chefs and Culinary Management Trainees from across Aitken Spence Hotels Sri Lanka for a multi-day knowledge sharing and skills development workshop.

Designed in collaboration with our Corporate F&B and Learning & Development teams, the workshop focused on strengthening culinary excellence across the group through innovation, collaboration and continuous learning.

From exploring modern cooking techniques, plant-based cuisine and hyper-local ingredients to menu engineering, sustainability practices and regional cuisine mastery, the sessions combined technical insight with hands-on demonstrations and team-led presentations.

The programme also created space for cross-property collaboration, allowing teams to exchange ideas, refine approaches and collectively shape the future of culinary experiences across our hotels.


As the industry continues to evolve, initiatives like this ensure our culinary teams remain agile, inspired and aligned with global trends while staying rooted in local authenticity.
